what is kundilini?!? please help

Veccolo

Dunno, but don't mess with it. It drives you mad!
I don't do much, and I do it well.

NeoSaturn

too late. i downlaoded songs titled kundalini

NeoSaturn

anyone? please tell me i need to know! a lot lies on the line!

NeoSaturn

if you don't tell me what it is and why its bad i will go ahead and find out how to do it

NeoSaturn

looks like i am learning how to force an awakening! uh oh, maybe the snake will uncoil.

stop me if I'm in danger here, but i guess nobody cares.

Tom

You're not in any danger. You probably just won't get anywhere with it.

NeoSaturn

what if my awakening makes me go insane?

Tom

You're not patient enough to do the work to get kundalini to wake up. You're not likely to get any results at all, much less enough to threaten your mental stability. In fact, you can't even seem to use the search feature to go back through all of the material which has already been written here.

NeoSaturn

now tell me, how much is it that you THINK you know about me?

Tom

Isn't that another thread now if you want to talk about yourself instead of kundalini? If you really want to talk about kundalini, you should check to see what has been written before. It is a very big subject here and it can keep you busy for hours just sorting through it all. Now you are just making it more difficult for people who join up later who want to do the right thing by checking through the old material first by cluttering it up with double posts about how no one cares about you.

NeoSaturn

sorry if i offended you,i get like that sometimes...i was merely eager to know that is all

NeoSaturn,

What little I know indicates that you really should build up your energy body first. NEW is the easiest one I know to gain awareness for a start, also chi kung work once you have that awareness or yoga-I know less about yoga from experience but I'm sure once you have energy body awareness and have developed it to some extent you'll find yoga to be effective.

The point I'm getting at here is foundations, foundations, foundations.  Energy training, simple meditation work, relaxation and perhaps some physical training even.

I can't define kundalini properly to you as I've only had echoes/shadows of it, not a full awakening. If this is what you desire then honestly, get your foundations sorted and perhaps look up a good kundalini yoga school or teacher even.  I don't know how far you have come already, so this is what I'd tell anyone from what I do know.  There will be some here who know far more I'm sure.

Kundalini rising isn't a one time event. You have to repeatedly do it apparently so it's a discipline in it's own right. Doing it as a beginner etc is probably like lifting 300kg when you start body building. :-)
May your [insert choice of deity/higher power etc here] guide you and not deceive you!

Hi
Well it seems that there are various opinions about what Kundalini is and also how it affects you. Try typing a question and search and you will find a lot from RB about it. It seems evident that it is not a force to be played around with, and an too early awakening can literally drive people mad. There also seem to be some very real physical problems resulting from a early awakening as well. In my country they have several groups sort of Kundalini anonymous who helps people who have developed various problems along this line. It seems from what I have read and experienced that the Kundalini will "stir" before being fully awakened and the symptoms are varied. If you have any of those you should proceed with caution. RB has a lot of insight on this topic so read what he writes and see how it fits. It seems equally important that you do not develop a overdue fear as that can also cause an imbalance.

It doesn't have to indicate kundalini... Maybe it's just a blocked chakra...

Ah.

Kundalini! Some say and speak of it ; that it's the force that unites the root chakra with the crown chakra(which then 'awakens'), when all six chakra's have properly been activitated.

Yet another uses the word Kundalini to symbolize imagination that keeps your being down.

What it really is I do not know. And it's just a word. We need functions, when you bump your head against a wall you don't necassarily have to say 'that hurt', the sensations produced by such an incident will tell that way better, wording it is supplementary.

I can't tell you 'the truth' about kundalini. But just be careful with buying in words such as kundalini, because everyone else talks about it.

Kris

why do people go insane when activating kundalini??

Tom

Basically, you aren't the person you think you are. Kundalini will show you that. Losing your mind is just the instinctive flailing about your mind does as a response.

is it possible to turn it off?? lol

Tom

The only option is to finish the job after starting it. All pain involved comes from resisting the process. It is not easy to learn not to resist it.

no.

kundalini is a door that once is opened cannot be closed. (i did some reading.

Tom

No one mentions Shiva, with whom the Goddess Kundalini unites in the crown chakra. There is not only the liberating current of Kundalini, but there is the process of manifestation. Both need to be balanced.

Hey, you seem really eager to let her awaken, NeoSaturn!  :)

I posted some links about Kundalini on the thread 'Tree Set Afire' (http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=16904&postdays=0&postorder=asc&&start=0 ), if you want to read.

Also, there is a page of a Canadian Yogi group, who can help you with this, if you want, you can go to their free programs, or first check the online experiment, at http://www.sahajayoga.ca/indexenglish.html

And I'd be glad to answer any question, of course, as far as my experience can cover it.

Basically it is more difficult nowadays to keep Kundalini down, than to awaken her, because these are the times in which she is collectively rising. This is because each chakra is being opened as particular step in the evolution, and now it is the time the 7th is being opened at a collective level.
Actually it started in 1970. Indian saints have witnessed this event. It is also the same point in time about which Western philosophers (Foucault & others) consider to mark a paradigm shift. Fritjof Kapra also describes, in the introduction to 'The tao of Physics', a particular revelation he has witnessed on the early Summer of 1970.

Here you have a description of 7th chakra (Sahasrara) being awakened, on 5th of may 1970:

Quote
"It is the greatest event of all the spiritual happenings of the universe... Without this happening, there could not have been the possibility of giving en-mass realization to people. [...]

As soon as the Sahasrara was opened, the whole atmosphere was filled with tremendous chaitanya, and there was tremendous light in the sky, and the whole thing came on this earth, as if a torrential rain or a waterfall with such tremendous force as if I was unaware and got stupefied.

The happening was so tremendous, and so unexpected that I was stunned and got totally silent at the grandeur.

I saw the primordial Kundalini rising like a big furnace, and the furnace was very silent but a burning appearance it had, as if you heat up a metal, and it has many colours.

In the same way, the Kundalini showed up as a furnace like a tunnel, as you see these plants you have for coal burning, that create electricity: and it stretched like a telescope and came out one after another, shoot!shoot!shoot! just like that.

I started seeing all that and got lost in the joy. It was like an artist seeing his own creation, and I felt the joy of great fulfillment.

After coming out of this beautiful experience, I looked around and saw human beings so blind and I became absolutely silent, and desired that I should get the cups to fill the nectar".

O.K. The idea is: It is enough today to even only once have the true desire  to make this experience, and it happens. It did to me, though I haven't gone through a special seeking before.

Kundalini is the reflection within us of what is being worshiped as the Divine Feminine (the Virgin Mary or the Holy Spirit, for Christians, the Goddess of Shakti/Power of God for Hindus, Lady Fatima for Muslims etc.)
So she is an individual spiritual mother, she will never hurt unless badly insulted. Even then, it is not she who hurts, but the reflection of deities within us, who protect her.

Good Vibrations and good luck to you all,

Ana
