Dream colours

Last night I had a very vivid dream of being outside at night. Instead of the sky being black, it was a solid darkish blue, and all over it sparkled with tiny silver dots like a sparkler, very fine though (but bright) silver sparkles. It was the most magnificent, awsome sight I've ever seen.

All this happened after I was falling asleep after trying to imagine a colour that to humans, doesn't exist. I couldn't of course do it. Apparently the "afterlife" has such indescribable colours. My dream was full of weird colour schemes. No colours that I hadn't seen before, just different (weird) colour schemes, but so very beautiful. Just thought I'd share.

I've tried that too!  During an OBE, when I was still in my body, but no longer physical, I requested that I see, or experience, a colour that wasn't in our spectrum.

Nothing happened!  I wonder if our limitations came into play.

Why do you say "of course I couldn't do it?"  There's your limitation.

I still maintain that I will see/experience a colour that I've never seen before.  Perhaps the timing wasn't right for me then.  :D

We all find nonsenses to believe in; it's part of being alive.

It seems a lot to me like twilight without light pollution so you can see the stars, were these fine silver dots very different from stars? Maybe it was long distance OBE instead of AP.

Hi Tyciol!

My Dream was very vivid, but I'm sure it was a dream, not OBE or AP. I live in Sydney, and it seemed I was looking at the harbour and the sky over Sydney Harbour, but the buildings around me and the harbour were nothing like the buildings at sydney harbour. I can't remember exactly what the colour scheme was of the buildings around me, but it was different to what we'd normally see. weird but very beautiful. It was like oranges, greens, yellows and blues. Not new colours I hadn't seen before, but used in a way I hadn't seen before. Like orange walls with green floor, and blue roof. That sounds yuck, and isn't quite what I saw when looking at the buildings, but it's an example of a weird colour scheme. I was more looking at the sky. It was more in the back of my mind, what the buildings and footpath (sidewalk) looked like.

I used to live in a small place far from any city, and I know how bright the stars can be at night. What I saw in my dream was nothing like that.

Imagine the sky dark blue all over, not just at the horizon. Then, instead of stars, it was like small points in the sky that kind of sprayed off sparkles like a sparkler... you know, like new year's eve sparklers, or fancy sparkling birthday cake candles. Only these tiny sparkles were all over the entire sky, sometimes swirling a little, but otherwise just sparkling all over. Tiny sparkles. As I was watching this, a very large passenger ship slowly passed by in the harbour, dimly lit by the dark blue sky.

It is one thing to imagine it, and another thing to "see" it so vividly, as if with my own eyes in the physical world. I felt filled with awe. I felt that what I was seeing was absolutely spectacular. I was curious to know if anyone has seen anything like it?

Selski, interesting you asked to see colours we normally don't see. Let me know if you ever see some! :-) I'm so curious!

I had a dream once about music with sounds that don't exist, this reminds me of it a lot. The sounds where super communicative , almost like talking but not saying anything - more on a feeling paranormal level.
The dream went like this : aliens ( blue ones , very triagluar / square shaped ) took me to some place in the stars and there they started this strange music. (floating in space still) I never heared anything like it again, and I do listen to a lot of freaky electronic music ..

I once heard on a science show that if ultraviolet light was all that we could see, then everything would appear with an eerie glow coming from the sun, with dark shadows.

When they showed ultraviolet images (like the one of the sun in this Wikipedia article) it looked very "astral." And not surprising, because astral means "Of, relating to, emanating from, or resembling the stars." So, I would not be surprised if we could see ultraviolet light, or any other parts of the EM spectrum, and that that is what contributes to the magnificent glow.

Trouble is, I don't know how to go about testing something like that. Oh well, it looks beautiful. ;)

I once had a experience as well were I saw colors that do not exist in the physical. Was a awsome feeling I would like to experience again. I'm thrilled others have that same experience, cool!

Me too. Long before I recorded my dreams I had a vivid dream involving a green field. The grass was/is a color I saw as a new color. I knew it would be a challenge to remember it's appearance once I woke up. I tried visually, and also tried by describing it with words before waking. Both ways failed. Now all I have is the memory of it being a "new color", somewhere between green and blue, somewhere between light and dark.
