So tell me, where's the white light? All I see is black and I've been meditating for 2 months now. Anybody? Anybody else see just black?

When I meditate, I never really see anything, I feel it. It took me a long time to do that too though, I was putting too much concentration into it I think, I have a hard time clearing my head anyway. But try to explore your other senses while meditating.

Thanks Maj. That makes a lot of sense. When I do finally get relaxed enough, I experience that phase shift where the mind becomes the foreground and the body becomes the background. I realize the err of my ways as well. I am too fixated on the particular technique I'm using (higher balance meditation) than simply just letting it be. From now on, I will separate the meditation into two parts. One for the HB meditation for raising prauna and the other for just being and letting go. I think the problem with me an many others is that they want to "SEE" so bad that nothing happens. They as well as I hear of others fantastic experiences that that is all we think about when we meditate and it sort of consumes us and ruins the meditation. Although ruin is a harsh word. Any meditation is good I think. Where might I learn more about this phase shifting. Does this have to do with focus points as well? I find it hard to believe that there can be 25 focus points and the average lay person be able to differentiate between 12 and 15. However I know nothing about focus points so perhaps I'll just shut up.

Anyhow Thanks Maj.

When I meditate I almost always experience sudden brightening in my eyes (they are closed, of course). The light seems to be coming from above, that is how i ruled out the possibility that my eyelids may be opening slowly. Sometimes during the course of meditation this light keeps appearing and disappearing as my thoughts change focus. Im not sure what it is though...

knuclebrain,
I tried the white light. This time I saw nothing but dark. When I switched to a yellow or amber light, it came into view.

I find that sometimes when nothing comes visually, it may be a time to listen. A voice or sounds may come.
