I'de like to add to that question with ...   Do vibrations necessarily have to occur to have an OOBE? I cant seem to get them unless I'm caught off guard.

Loving yourself first is the most important step you must take before you can truly love someone else.

Feel free to ask me anything. I'll try to offer advice if I can.

No, they don't have to occur.  Or should I say, you don't have to feel them.  Some may argue that they are there all the time, but you just may not be aware of them because you're not focusing in on them.

From my personal experience, I almost never feel any vibrations.  It's more like a numbness with tactile sensations.  If having an OBE, and I walk on the floor, I can feel myself walking, but sometimes it's like I'm walking on legs which are asleep.  I feel the pressure of the ground but it's a littl detached from me.

However, whenever I pass through solid objects, the feeling is very real.  I can even detect the different layers of material that I go through (like sheetrock, studs, empty space, etc.).

So to answer your question, I wouldn't try to focus on "getting the vibrations," because what this usually does is keep you somewhat focusing on your BODY, when in fact you should be forgetting about your body.

If they happen, they happen.....but not everyone experiences them.

Hi Martin....

Depending on what you're doing, the sensations will probably be different.  For example, if you're having a typical out of body experience, you may feel yourself actually PEEL from your physical shell like a banana.  When I roll out of my body, I automatically have full sensations in my astral body, and things seem just like they do when I am completely awake.  In fact, almost everytime I project, I have to purposely thrust my arm through a solid object just to convince myself that I am out and not really awake.  That's how real it can be!

However, if you simply phase into the astral realm, you may not feel a peeling sensation.  instead, you'll probably just feel a little movement forward....possibly a disorientated feeling if you're like me.....and then the astral just fades into view.  From there, you're just as aware as you are in a typical OBE or your normal waking consciousness.

Hmm, I managed to to make the switch (or at least start) once, but I stopped it. For a few seconds during each attempt, without warning, I feel like my body is expanding along with my mind, but then it stops. From then on I seem to be able to feel things from two different perspectives. I have more sense in my physical, but i've also got some sort of sense about what seems an inch or so above my physical. Thats why I think i'm missing the ride.

Another thing, since I started practising, every now and then I lose some feeling from my legs and they seem to go heavy on thier own with a slight tingling. It only goes when I move my legs. Is that right?

If you were to constantly monitor the condition of your physical body while in a trance state, you will notice a heaviness, yes.  The problem with that, however, is that you're focusing on your physical body!  Most people concentrate inadvertantly on that, and it ends up holding them back.

For example, whenever I'm exiting the body or whenever I'm returning from a projection, the last thing in my mind is, "Hey, my physical body feels all wierd."  The truth is I never think about my physical body when I am in a trance-like state.  Maybe for the first few minutes I will only to relax the body.  But once I am relaxed, I know that my body will naturally shut down without my help.  After all, it's been doing just fine on it's own for the last 27 years of my life!

So try to only focus on your physical body when it comes to relaxing (or for energy work, if you do that).  Otherwise, once you're comfortable and relaxed, simply focus on NON-physical things, like thoughts, images, quieting your mind, etc.

Yeah i've got that part, I mean when i'm not in trance. Like when i'm just watching tv or when i'm on the computer.

so , when the vibrations occur , or whe nyou feel that you might be in 2 places at once .. what do you think we should do to put out concioussness in the astral body and leave the area ?

I also have had the problem of focusing out of the body. My way around is that I tend to project after falling asleep-I would bet that a lot of people here do that. I usually get awakened by vibrations, but somehow a part of my brain that would  inhibit projections stays away-it is hard to describe but something does seem missing, cause I have spent a few hours on the verge of projecting (not at one try) and that overaware body focused part just isn't there after falling asleep. What I do-wake in the middle of the night, do new, focus, meditate, experience vibes, fall asleep, then awaken with vibrations.

In the world in general and in this nation
May not even the names disease, famine, war, and suffering be heard.
May virtuous qualities, merit, and prosperity greatly increase
And may continuous good fortune and subline well-being perfectly arise.

jeff, when you are out does your astral body look transparent or physical?

For the most part, it looked pretty damn normal to me.  On a couple of occasions, I had seen a faint glow around it.  However, the last time I looked at my arms, they looked just like mine do now.

Of course, I wasn't studying them or anything, but I glanced at them to see if they would disappear, and they looked normal.

"A common cause of failed projection appears to be a failure to shift the 'centre' of consciousness out of the physical body along 'with' the real time double as it projects free of the physical body.  It is extremely important a projector keep their mind clear and focused on the action and sensation of leaving their physical body, to go with it, and not to lose touch with what is happening." - Robert Bruces Treatise on AP

I think this is happening to me. What sensations do other people experiance when seperation occurs, and what do you concentrate on? I think i'm pretty close to projecting but i'm sure this is one big problem getting in my way. Any help would be good.
