Howdy All!
I am a newbie to this fantastic forum and advanced thanks to all who unselfishly devote their time and  share experiences and advice here!

Quick history: I am 37 f, have always has spontaneous AP/OOB during times of stress and fatigue, but never knew what to do with them except go for the ride...
I am not a meditator, but have an extremely good sense of focus and concentration from my athletic days since childhood onto 12 yrs of heavy world competition. I also have been a Silva Mind/Method 'practitioner' since 1990 on a daily basis, as well as a field dowser.
This AP/OOB is definitely a new thing to me in the sense that I have learned it can be controlled and accomplished at will.

About 2 months ago I suddenly had a string of very strong OOB/APs where I actually took control and Did things with them, instead of going along for the ride. Since then I have poured over the net doing research and practice. I have been using the ROPE and Heart techniques to attempt willful APs and am getting just to the edge of separation. I have the very same 'symptoms' as many describe here in these posts. I know what the end result is and feels like, now I am attempting willful AP's. I believe My string of recent experiences were also encouraged by my guides or my own higher selves. (sorry I don't know the proper semantics yet!)

Here's my BIG question...
I feel at though I have raised my energy level (eventhough I have just today started learning about chakras) during practice sessions that now I experience a feeling of too much energy; racing heart, can't sleep, no appetite. I can only get relaxed by doing the relaxation exercises, but only to arise with more ? energy it seems.
I Have been a lifelong insomniac anyway; 2 hrs sleep at a time is average, and waking 3-5 times everynight; even out of very deep slumbers. I have used Silva methods to successfully Stop my lifelong sleepwalking as well (too many trips outdoors and into other buildings etc!!!!)
I am in excellent health other than worn out joints from the world scene and overuse (since retired too); I do NOT Drink/Drugs/Smoke and have a federal physical annually as I am a commercial helicopter pilot. And NOT a coffee/caffeine drinker/junkie.

What is happening? What can I do to sloooow my body down? I feel like a racehorse stuck in the starting gates for several days now...
HOW can I balance this energy if indeed this is what it is? Nothing in my life has changed other than the devotion over the last 5-6 weeks to learning and practicing for AP/OOB travels.
I love the energy, but this is a bit too much for me!

Thanks in advanced!

The Silva Method is a good thing to have already developed. You can go to level and create a room to work in in your mind. It can be an office, a temple, a meditation room, or anything else you prefer. When you have everything established, ask for a teacher or Guide to join you there. Get a name when this happens so you can invite this person back if you want to later.

If you resist the uncomfortable sensations you have, you will add energy to them and make them last longer. It is only by totally accepting things the way they are that you can then be free of them. It is the same way with good things, for some reason. The more you accept and let go of good things, the more you can have of them.

Tom, Thanks for the reply!

Yes Indeed! I have taken Silva courses from one of Jose's nephews (and Jose's Guinea pigs!), and was also privileged to train with another distinguished lecturer who also incorporated Shamanic teachings (Raymon Grace; now published with "The future is yours, do something about it")
I also recently took the Ultramind course. GOOD STUFF!

I have used Silva mind techniques Daily and particularly at night for programming; my future (now living the accomplishments;-) as well as working on negative people, healing, etc, and with Great results! Better and Better, and this is So.

I have also trained in the field (am also a geologist) with a renowned dowser, Louis Matacia. I dowse in my field for exploration: gold/oil/gas/water in particular. I also met Robert Monroe before he passed, as he and Louis were close friends.
I am attending Monroe's Gateway next week; and have completed the MC2 (sync-creation).
...and Wow have the doors been blown off and my new direction and road Finally being paved after last several months of mental and spiritual stagnancy and frustration. Programming has paid off, as usual and when I keep the faith and expectations:D

This is why I feel I recently had the bout of spontaneous oob/ap's so I could be directed in the right directions, and towards GOOD People! (like Here)
Am looking forward to developing this new discovery (for me, that is).
I guess the time is now for me, and here I am and off I go

Thanks again for your time!

Maybe you should take a few weeks off from OBE practice.  Sometimes our energy bodies get overstimulated and can benefit from a break.

Ha, Beavis!  Tell that to me at 3am when I'm wide awake because I have too much energy, but all I want is sleep!

When I don't think I'll ever be able to get to sleep, and this does not happen often, my usual approach is to get out of bed and meditate instead of trying to go to sleep. It usually results in a nice meditation which is followed by drowsiness and then getting to sleep for the night.

Yeah, that's a good plan.  It's important to actually get out of bed and do something:  read, go for a walk, etc until you get tired again.  Meditation is a nice thing to add to the list.

I have thoughts like this too, but we cannot presume to judge how others with it may view. I hate it when skinny people tell me 'I wish I had your kind of bodyweight', just as I'm sure they'd hate it I said "I wish I was skinny like you' if I ever did (I'm too polite).

As for lowering your energy... you've covered all the questions I'd normally ask out of skepticism, so you definitely do have a problem. Hmmm... the thing is... you can't really be too 'balanced', there's no such thing.

Do you experience this energy in one specific spot, or everywhere? Enhanced energy could be sort of an 'energy blood clot' from having a block somewhere which enhanced the pressure on it, similar to how a hose builds up if you squeeze the end but keep the water flowing.

Once you learn how to begin storing your energy (as NEW eventually gets into) you might be able to store all the excess energy there, and use it for less physical work. There may also be some kind of block in your lower chakras.

Do you feel fatigued when you go without sleep? Perhaps your body doesn't think it needs as much because you have so much energy, it doesn't feel the need to rest to regain it.

Everywhere I look in the fitness industry, people are trying to increase their metabolisms. It seems to me that you may possibly have an overactive metabolism, and lowering it may be something you want (don't lower it too much or you'll get fat and hate it). So, look out at what they say, and then do the EXACT opposite... in a health conscious manner. I don't mean load up on the sugar or anything.
