Entities in Dreams?

I suppose if someone has a new experience it would seem wierd to them. In my case, having had a lucid dream in which I met 3 female entities together was a strange experience to me. This was some time ago and I have since come to accept such things. Still, the experience has left me with few answers as to who they were and what they ment with their words.

In this dream, I met these 3 women. I took note of their positions in relation to one another. They stood shoulder to shoulder in a slight semi-circle facing me. I remember they had piercing blue eyes that stared at me, but other than that they were expressionless. I suppose they appeared intent on learning about me or watching for me to exhibit something. The dream had various dream like qualities, but they remained an odd constant.

At one point I decided to approach them an enquire as to whom they were. Of the thee, two replied identifying themselves as The Philosopher and The Protector. The third remained silent, while all of them continued to just stare at me.

I post this experience because, as mentioned, I am puzzled. Does anyone have any idea as to whom these entities were (beside the names two gave)?

Thanks in advance for any info!! :)

Cheers,
Mac

I may be barking up the wrong tree, but these sprung to mind while I was reading your post...

The Three Graces

In Greek mythology, the three goddesses of joy, charm, and beauty. The daughters of the god Zeus and the nymph Eurynome, they were named Aglaia (Splendor), Euphrosyne (Mirth), and Thalia (Good Cheer). The Graces presided over banquets, dances, and all other pleasurable social events, and brought joy and goodwill to both gods and mortals. They were the special attendants of the divinities of love, Aphrodite and Eros, and together with companions, the Muses, they sang to the gods on Mount Olympus, and danced to beautiful music that the god Apollo made upon his lyre. In some legends Aglaia was wed to Hephaestus, the craftsman among the gods. Their marriage explains the traditional association of the Graces with the arts; like the Muses, they were believed to endow artists and poets with the ability to create beautiful works of art. The Graces were rarely treated as individuals, but always together as a kind of triple embodiment of grace and beauty. In art they are usually represented as lithe young maidens, dancing in a circle.

Doesn't quite fit with The Philosopher and The Protector.

Oh wait, look I've found something else

The Muses

The Greek goddesses who presided over the arts and sciences. They were believed to inspire all artists, especially poets, philosophers, and musicians. The Muses were the daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne, the goddess of memory. The number of Muses varies over time; initially there was but one, and later there is mention of three: Melete, Mneme, and Aoede. They were nymphs in Pieria, western Thrace, and their cult was brought to Helicon in Boeotia by the Aloadae. Usually there is mention of nine muses: Calliope, Clio, Erato, Euterpe, Melpomene, Polyhymnia, Terpsichore, Thalia, and Urania.

The Muses were venerated throughout Greece, but more so in those areas with many wells and springs. The area of Boeotia, near Helicon, remained the favorite place of the Muses, and there they were more venerated than elsewhere. It is also the place of two well that were sacred to them, Aganippe and Hippocrene. Also Delphi and the Parnassus were their favorite places, and it was here that Apollo became their leader (musagetes).

The Muses sat near the throne of Zeus, king of the gods, and sang of his greatness and of the origin of the world and its inhabitants and the glorious deeds of the great heroes. From their name words such as music, museum, mosaic are derived.

Well, it mentions philosophy in that one!!

We all find nonsenses to believe in; it's part of being alive.

Hi Sarah, and thank you for your insightful reply! :D

Your mention of the Muses is an interesting idea. You see, this dream occured in February 1994 - some 11 years ago. In retrospect, I became significantly more spiritual, or spiritually curious - wanting to understand cosmology, the paranormal, the soul or spirit, etc... - than ever before. In the following years I learned a great deal and continue to this day to seek information. If the Muses are recognized as inspirations for ones personal develop than the idea that perhaps these entities were Muses in my dream makes for an intriging possibility. :)

I am curious to know if anyone else has had such an experience, or if anyone has any other ideas on the identity of these entities.

Again, thank you for the reply Sarah! :)

Cheers,
Mac

Hello macamhaoilein :)
I think these entities was some form of higher being,Astral life, wisp.
I can relate to the one who said herself to be the philosopher...
Anyways once when i AP and i was looking for something or someone calling himself "Old man" or well my friend says he calls himself that.
I try ed to view him, her,it relevantly from the astral body(energy body)
I felt like i was pulling back in to my body. But i remained felt like a wind thought. People where coming at me and some walked by some stayed and sat down in Davin's position. One of them said to another or to me : "When the flowers grow they gather there ligth only from the sun and the divine ligth. If you are ever come to face a place where you feel insecure feel in your heart talk to your soul and tell it: "If i am to see what i don´t   willing off this place are to be saved for other places when now i must let  feel what i don´t and see whats hidden. The one who said all this kinda looked what you described them three like but she wore a druid like coat blue with Lilla strips

(in case your wondering this was the best AP i ever successfully had :) )
