Lucid dreaming - Strange problem(s).

I know these problems sounds a little strange, but it'd be a great help if someone could help me figure out what it is that is causing them.

In almost every dream, I always seem to know i'm dreaming. The problem is it never actually occurs to me that I can control the dream. In most dreams, if something goes wrong I just stop the dream, go back and put right what went wrong. Isn't this obvious proof I know i'm dreaming? It's the same in most dreams. The problem arises when I become lucid and try to consiously manipulate the dream. When I do this, everything just goes black and I am "Kicked out". I don't remember any more dreams that night. If someone could help me, it'd be greatly appreciated.

aarong11,
Interesting...I've had only one dream I was/am kicked out! One of the most significant dreams for me!

I've never had a desire to control any dream. My dreams seem fine as is.

The only reason I was/am kicked out of this dream seemed to be a result of questioning some-thing/one! ?

You tend to be kicked once your mind catches on to your realization. As far as I tell, I control what I do in my dream, but I'm acting according to the situation I am faced with and from what background memory I have on it (short-term that's put there while you are dreaming so that you don't realize that you are dreaming). Once I figure out I am asleep and dreaming, I start to feel my back on my bed, my physical body, and the dream starts to fade out, being replaced by the physical senses (sight coming back most noticably).

Perhaps you try to change too much at once ? Maybe you shouldn't try to change the scenery, but only small things... You could try just following the 'storyline' somewhat further and be aware that you are dreaming, and use this knowledge to your advantage. (I think there is less chance of you 'breaking up' in that case).

For example on of the first abilities I implemented when I became aware in my dreams was underwater breathing. You can't suffocate under water in a dream (at first this is really weird that you can breathe underwater). This can give you an advantage in some dreams, that allow you to change the ending of the dream (for instance staying underwater undetected, while normally in this storyline you would have been detected and captured or something). Other things you can do is make use of your 'powers' (flying/strength/...) without changing the surroundings...

I don't know if this helped :) good luck !
