Using a Kazoo to Prolong Lucidity

I had an interesting experience this morning.  It's long - you have been warned.  My thoughts about it are at the end.

I was sat at a table.  I saw a kazoo on the table, so I blew on the larger end.  My lips vibrated and the instrument made a high "wheeeeeeeeee" sound.  I became lucid.

As soon as I became lucid, I realised it was the kazoo that triggered the lucidity.  I kept blowing it and putting the sound to my ear, to make me even more lucid.  I wondered if it was a form of vibrations I was getting.

I stood from the table and put the kazoo in my pocket.  I walked out of the room and found myself in another room.  This was brightly coloured, with what appeared to be posters all over the walls.  I couldn't resist it – I touched one of the walls – and my hand went through.  "Hmmm," I thought, "I'm dreaming, I'm lucid, I'm totally alert, and I'm having an OBE all at the same time – curious."

I stilled my mind and thought to myself, "Come on Sarah, you are totally conscious here, what is it that you want to do?  What is your plan – you need a plan."  I tried to remember what was on my list of "things to do".  Visit someone!  No, no, what was it?  Intent?  Yes, Intent.  There was something else too – what was it?  Oh yes, guides/helpers - I want to meet them.  That's it!  That's what I want to do.

The room was empty of people, so I looked around the walls, looking for something interesting enough to step through, but none of it caught my eye.  Then I remembered something.  A doorway, look for a doorway!  So I looked around for a "doorway", anything that resembled a door.  Nothing.

Then I woke up.  I stayed very still, kept my eyes closed, thought about the room and drifted back into the dream.

I was now in another room.  It was dark, dingy, nothing in it.  I was in some sort of warehouse type place.  I put my hand in my pocket and felt the kazoo.  I blew on it.  Very carefully, I went to put it back, and discovered I'd got tissues in the pocket too.  So I took all the tissues out and put them aside, so that the kazoo was the only thing in the pocket.  It was a nice big pocket, and I was very pleased that my kazoo was safe in there.  I knew that if I needed it urgently, I could quickly put my hand in and it would be the first thing I touched.

I went over to the door and opened it.  It was dark, nighttime.  I was on the first floor and there wasn't any way down to the ground.  I looked down wondering how I got there in the first place.  Just then, I saw a man in the room.  And I remembered about the guides.  I went over to him and started saying, "Are you...?" The monkey incident came back to me so I stopped.  He said to me, "You'll find what you are looking for in the next room – follow me."  So I followed him.

Again, I woke up.  I did exactly the same as last time and drifted back into the dream.

Another room, very similar, still dark.  I walked over to the door and looked out.  No way down.  I saw a courtyard, with those Mexican type plants.  The detail was incredible.  I thought to myself, "I can quite easily jump and I'll float or appear somewhere else."  But I didn't want to.  I wanted to stay with this "experience" and see what was going to happen.

I then moved over to the second door and looked out.  No way down.  It was still night.  I saw a very low plane go past.  I mean, ridiculously low, about 10ft off the ground.  It had two sets of wings.  A plane that I've never seen in waking reality.

Just then, a younger man appeared in the room.  I asked him how he got up here, and how to get down.  "I'll show you," he said.  He opened the door that I'd just been looking out of and "ta-da" it was now daytime and there was lots of activity on the ground floor.  There was a group of people, all men I think, and there was furniture all over the place.  It looked like a house clearance.  Some of the taller furniture was near the doorway, so it was easy to step onto it and then jump down.  Both the man and me did this.  I stood on the ground floor while the men were busy moving things around.  Carefully, I looked around at all this junk, thinking there might be something meaningful there for me.  Alas, nothing stood out – I saw an old desk and a stool and stuff like that – but nothing to draw me to it.

The young man was crouching on a ledge high above doing something.  I put my hand in my pocket and panicked.  The kazoo was gone.  I'd left it in the room.  I called up to him and said, "Are you able to get back into the room up there?  Only I've left something really important – it's a kazoo..." I was about to explain what a kazoo was, but he'd already made his way to the room.  A moment later he was back and handed me the kazoo.  I smiled my thanks and extremely carefully put it in my pocket.  I was so happy to have it back – I thought it had gone forever.

Then the young man was whispering to the other man (the first man I'd met).  I couldn't hear them as such, but I knew what they were saying.

Younger Man: "Don't forget we've got to keep them here when we go."

Older Man: "Have no fear – when we torch the place, they'll still be in it!"

I knew they were talking about me.  Immediately, I grabbed hold of another female and we left the building, walking quickly.  As soon as we got outside I said to her, "Run.  Just keep running.  And whatever you do – don't stop."

I started running.  It was grassy underneath.  Without looking round, I knew that another female had followed us out.  She was someone I know in physical life.  I used to work with her.  Then she started running too.  I wasn't sure whether she was chasing us, or running away from them too.  However, I wasn't going to stop and find out.  She shouted, "Run to the church, it's safe there."  This made sense to me, so I changed direction and started running towards the church (even though I couldn't see any church, in fact there was nothing for miles).

Then I woke up and realised I'd woken up too much to go back.

Well done if you've got this far!!

Did anyone notice that once I'd stopped using the kazoo, the experience went more "dreamlike"?  I think I lost lucidity totally once I heard the conversation between the two men.  If only I'd have got the kazoo out.

I believe the church angle is not my inner self telling me to turn to religion, but actually stems from a very sinister PlayStation game called "Silent Hill".  You are advised during the game to go to the church where you will get your next "clue".

And interestingly, I did meet a helper as such.  The young man.  He helped me get down from the first floor, and he fetched the kazoo for me.

So I actually did get what I asked for.  It has taught me to be much more specific about my Intent in future.

We all find nonsenses to believe in; it's part of being alive.

I'm sure noises help. Bees, factory machinery, a fan all these things and others have turned into vibrations for me. There comes a point when I realise it is not the dream sound anymore and I am lucid. Kazoo, that's a novelty! :P
