What next?  A Jesus board game?  It is obscene.  When even Jesus and Moses are toys...how can anyone expect children to take any religious instruction seriously?

BUDDHAHOOD - THE END OF SUFFERING

Ben K

Disillusioned words like bullets bark
As human gods aim for their mark
Made everything from toy guns that spark
To flesh-colored Christs that glow in the dark
It's easy to see without looking too far
That not much
Is really sacred.

I saw that on www.dailyrotten.com . I think that it's just disgusting(I rarely hear of such insane ideas, so I could not stop laughing) - when the parents will buy such thing, their children could unknowingly commit blasphemy while playing with such dolls :D
This is hilarious, but the thing that really concerns me is that the Spiritual Satanists will use it for their rituals. I don't believe in Jesus Christ or Christian/Jewish God but it saddens me when people do such things with the symbols that are holy to others.

Do any kids take religion seriously? I mean come on, I went to a private Catholic school from k-8 and really, god is such an abstract concept to kids, they dont really care. Can you honestly say that when your were 9 years old playing with the sprinkler in the lawn you were thanking Christ for saving you from the flaming pits of hell? No, you just wanted to be a kid. Might as well sit and learn about mother goose rhymes...

Didn't have a sprinkler.  Didn't have a lawn.  But did the know difference between being in church and being other places.

And no, I didn't buy into a lot of what was being told to me because I looked around and quickly figured out that none of that good stuff was happening here and that if God was what he said he was, then he was a real SOB, playing favorites and all.

By 14 I had figured out that no priest had a hot line to God, but I did have a better concept of God than what was being taught to me.

Children will take it more seriously than going to dance school, but not if their are dolls of the person they are supposed to be praying to.  Puts Jesus on the same level as a teddy bear or a Ken doll.

I think everyone eventually finds their way to what they believe in and what they don't, but it has to start somewhere.  I couldn't have possibly known what I was objecting to if I hadn't heard it in the first place.

In my childhood, we certainly made fun of the nuns but did take the priests more seriously and knew how to act in church and learned at least some basics of right and wrong.   I do know none of us saw God or Jesus as a big Teddy Bear or Santa Claus in the sky who owns some kind of theme park where we can go on rides -- that is another problem.

From my own experience religion was a tough pill to swallow when i was a kid. I'm glad my mother and father exposed me to it later on, as it opened doors to other ways of thinking, but...well, my ideas of religion have changed over the years to a preferred approach to spirituality and metaphysics. That's where i found answers.

On the other hand, i have heard of children with profound religious and spiritual experiences from a very young age. Stories about reincarnated Buddahs are quite fascinating.

This is obviously a bit radical for the the bible-thumper US market but is hardly new over here in the UK...

My mate has a jesus action figure he bought a couple of years ago.. its great! jesus even comes with plastic loaves and fishes and other extras!

Hah! I don't know to think if that's sacrilege or good-natured poking fun at religion.  I wonder what Jesus thinks? Probably doesn't care too much, or maybe he's getting a chuckle over modern consumerism.
