I have the same dream over and over again often, it happens with different dreams though. Sometimes they even finish one night only to continue from where they left off the next. I don't know what it means.

I have had reoccurring dreams of the more 'adventurous' kind,
that didnt really carry any meaning as far as I could tell.
The reoccurring dreams gave me an opportunity to realize lucidy, however.
If you are in the dream and you realize you dreamt it before,
this is an exellent time to try and change the plot/outcome of the dream...

The dream is like a maze that i have to figure out only it's a scary dream.  I'm trying to find my way out of a hospital but their are no doors or windows.  and I'm being chased by something...but i haven't figured out what it is.

Being chased and a sense of helplessness -- I've seen those topics defined before in dream "dictionaries." Someone help me out here, what was the usual meaning. You can find these in almost any bookstore.

However, bear in mind they are only very broad guidelines.  Some dreams are absolutely meaningless, just a rehash of the day you've had. Others are trying to tell you something -- or you are trying to tell you something (don't get me into semantics!)    

Think back a bit and see if you can't plug the emotions into something in your waking life. If you can't, I'd just try sleeping in a different position next time. Kidding aside, sleeping on your back will give you bad dreams, almost guaranteed.

A dream of chase is usually a dream with the theme of 'empowerment':
people are trying to take something from you, and you dont want to give it away.
This does not necessarily reflect an actual situation in real life,
it just may be that in your subconscious you have insecure feelings somewhere.

i always have more "bad" dreams when i sleep on my back. strange. it feels like i'm opening myself up more/more exposed.

hopistal/no way out/chased??? simply a fear of death.

Thanks, that's what I was trying to remember. As I said, they are broad themes and may or may not be applicable to any specific circumstance. Once you know the "standard meaning," the work begins. You must think of how the focus of the dream applies in your waking life.

Sometimes dreams can be very straightforward, though. For awhile, until I learned better, I raised dogs. I had a female expecting a litter and was concerned about the outcome. So one night as I went to sleep I asked my dreams to tell me if the litter would be born healthy. I had no fewer than five different dreams that night, all of them involving one dream character asking a question of the other. And each time, the answer was "I don't know." Not very informative, but crystal clear in addressing my question!

I have that as well.
But I dont feel exposed on my back, its just an uncomfortable sleeping position .
