flashing blue light

Several times a night, each night, I'll see a small blue light flash. Sometimes it'll be white. Whatever the case, even though it's small, it tends to be bright. It's almost star like.

Does anybody know what this might be?

One other thing. Sometimes I think it's my higher self saying hello, but I don't know.

Is this when your eyes are closed?
If so, i would say this is the early stages of the phasing process.

I think that maybe your astral body is active, but your astral sight is still a little funny, maybe thats why you see the lights

Thank you for the responses. I usually see it while awake with my eyes open. It doesn't happen as I phase from one state of consciousness to another.

I'm happy to hear that someone else has this flashing light. I started having it shortly after I started meditating. I only have it while awake. I have discussed it with my eye doctor who thinks I'm making it up or I'm crazy;or both. And I've seen it daily for five years now; so I'd say get used to it.

Thanks recoverer, an interesting post. I'll have to start acknowledging their presence to see if it has any effect. I have never connected them to a higher self. I'm boarderline diabetic and see other kinds of (lights) and just blamed them all on a sugar problem.  I've never been able to prove to myself that I have a higher self and have long wondered. I often have conversations with my higher self (imaginary or real) I find that I make  better decisions doing this. I'll have to start watching to see if the blue flash is connected with my conversation. Interesting!

I've heard that angels also appear as flashes of light. I see them all the time.

I also see the flashing lights, but i have seen them my whole life. APing came very easy to me it could be related.

Also there is something else that ive been curious about, that has been present my whole life. its hard to explain because it is completely normal to me and very subtle. i see colors around everything kind of like the static on tv but very subtle blue red green, barely noticeable.

This is just a venture guess, but it sounds like you are seeing auras. Some people also sense if things or people are good or bad when meeting for the first time.
Instead of colors some people get feeling of color. Like muddy color is same as sick, negative, yuck. Or orange is warm, welcoming, soothing. Good luck Apache.

Well recoverer, I'm unable to connect the random flashes of blue light with anything. Neither angels nor my higher self; much as I'd like too. If they have any meaning it eludes me.

Hi there Paint1,
I see those flashing sparkles all the time and I'm not worried.  I know that different coloured lights of different sizes mean different things.  The lights have become more prevalent recently.  The larger light seems to represent my guide.  When a pet of mine was put down the room filled with small blue sparkles so when the blue sparkles arrive  I know the dog is visiting   .

The colours and static you are seeing sound much like what I've started seeing recently.  If you practice the colours will become stronger.  you should try staring at the point of your third eye while standing in front of a mirror and count slowly to 100 focusing on your counting.  You eyes will go in and out of focus and colours may flash occasionally but eventually you will see at least one very bright band of colour around your head and shoulders.  You can do the same focusing on staring at your hands and letting you eyes go out of focus.  Funnily enough I can only see auras without my glasses on so it's not all about the eyes.

Best of luck.  Try talking to the sparkles, you will find they react positively.

I've noticed something about the flashing stars. They "never" flash really brightly when they flash real close to me, unless they do so about one foot above my head. When they flash in front of my dream journal as I write in it or in front of something I'm reading, they're never as big as when they flash say for example, seven feet away.  This  tells me that there is something intentional about how they flash. If they did so in a random way, the really big/bright (not that big)  ones would flash right in front of me and startle the heck out of me.

Plus, they at times "occur" while I'm meditating and often seem to do so in order to confirm a realization I have while meditating. I wrote "occur" as opposed to "flash," because they don't have the flash effect when my eyes are closed.

I've never had any flashing lights during a projection. The only flashing blue light that I can think of would be the one at K-Marts telling the customers their's a sale in aisle 13..:) j/k

But seriously, that's interesting occurrence. Maybe it has to do with energy that you are seeing that's around you? I known at times I've been able to see my aura and its kinda of like a blue,whitish electric glow around my whole body in the astral. Maybe this is what you were seeing?

In the physical world if you look at a object like you're gazing or looking past it I'm able to pick up the energy around it which lightly turns into a a luminous glow.

Well Gatekeeper, I did put down my old boarder collie around the same time as the flashing blue light started; I just never made that connection. My wife still keeps his picture on her night table.He's not mourned but he is missed.

I've been given more signs that the flashing stars I see are intentional.

1. The other night I had some strong shoulder blade pain because of a kundalini block. I asked for some help. The next night I woke up while lying on my side, and I could feel my energy body being worked on. It occurred to me that I'm being worked on by a spirit guide of some sort. A star flashed to acknowledge this fact. I mentally asked, do I have anything to worry about? A star flashed and I got the mental message "no." My energy body was worked on for about 5 minutes.

2. Lately my attention will be turned to a particular spot of the room in which I'm standing, and right then and there a star will flash. Take this morning for instance. Even though it is clear that I'm being communicated to with dreams, visions (during meditation), various experiences, flashing stars, and an occasional voice, I'm not able to totally believe that I'm being communicated to by thought. This morning while getting ready for work I felt exasperated about this, my attention was brought to a particular location of a wall that was near me, and a star flashed right there. Along with it I got the mental message, "if we can communicate to you with dreams, visions, experiences and flashing stars, why wouldn't we be able to communicate to you with thought?" Right after this message I looked up to the same spot again, and another star flashed.

P.S. I like the "inner voice" article that came out on Adrian's newsletter Sunday. It seems to relate to what I'm trying to become clear about.

Also, the energy block has gone away.
