Neg activity in Prisons

Here is an article about people in prisons with mental health problems. From reading it it's obvious that a lot of them are neg related. Like the two guys who are afraid of water or washing etc.

Maybe it's from experience. You know that old saying 'don't drop the soap'.

When we are washing, which is associated with water, we are vulnerable. We are being attentive to our bodies, not others, and it makes us sensitive to our bodies.

Being covered in grime may be disgusting, but like wearing a tuxedo, if everyone else it doing it, it forms a bond of inhuman comraderie, a shield of hardness against any softness you may have, as such softness is weakness, and prison is like a business: a weak man suffers. Except it's harder, and when you get screwed over it's literal and not just a saying.

McArthur

No it wasn't because of those things. There are two examples in that article. The first guy is a Rasta that is "crazy" (walks around shouting at himself--or perhaps the 'voices' he hears) who absolutely refused to take a shower. The second guy was actually afraid of water.

Robert Bruce has said somewhere that people with bad neg problems will tend not to bathe very often. It is probably the negs that influence this because the water somehow affects the negs, and they don't want their host bathing etc. So the above examples could be (not definitely) a sign of neg trouble.

I know someone who has a neg problem and she gets anxiety attacks about getting in the shower, which is probably why she doesn't bathe very much. It probably isn't her anxiety she is feeling but the neg's, or the neg is causing it to influence her not to bathe.

If I am having neg trouble around me I jump in the shower or bath (I sprinkle sulphur into the bath too) and the neg trouble reduces drastically.

Well McArthur you may have a point there: I definitely bathe less when depressed, even though it REALLY makes me feel better. Especially cold showers, I need to do those more. Hot showers at night to wash myself and relax, and a quick 5 minute or less cold one in the morning to wake myself up. YEAH! Although the morning cold shower may not be the best idea in the winter, I have a lot of hair and it takes FOREVER to dry.

The thing about prisons, is that it is usually people with mental problems, negative attachments, etc. that will commit crimes, especially the ones who are caught for it have problems with control as they slip up and are caught by the police.

So, that is why people in prisons have it. This of course doesn't negate the theory, being surrounded by so much negative energy could spread between everyone like bad diseases. This, along with sharing of criminal tactics and experiences, may be why people often say that sending criminals to jail just hardens a lot of them, making things worse.

I love hearing about criminals that reform, learn law, act well, but I fear they may be the minority. We must pinpoint whatever hope ignites their desire for reforming, and introduce this into the other inmates. This should help lessen the overall negative effects, and positively affect those affected by them.

I agree with the idea of negs stopping you from washing.  I've had similar experiences, and even with regards to keeping my bedroom clean too.  I have to be very careful to keep it clean and tidy and put a lot of effort into just getting out the hoover to give it a clean.

I definitely think that negs try to influence the personal space you occupy, turning it (if they can) into a dirty uncleanly hole where they can grow stronger and take a firmer grip on you.

You

I don't think it's always negs stopping you from washing, it could just be that they would bring you down, and make you too depressed to care about personal cleanliness. If it's at the point where water brings you pain, perhaps.

what if someone is poor and cant bathe? not a fair explanation

It is not surprising to observe a negative atmosphere in prisons and probably it is a nice home for some negs. Prisons are only there to lock them up and it is sad that they seem not to care about really helping them out.

I believe what you say and we don't need to learn it from experience  :D . Better not drop the soap in there....

Take care,

Okay. Let's say that without negs there wouldn't be criminals in prison. What do you want to do about it?

patapouf

''Crimes'' can not only be related to neg activity probably; there must be some individual characteristics in play? But, as a matter of fact, if many of these people did not have a ''negative attitude'', they might not be in prison.

A lot of people are messed up as children, by the way their parent/peers treat them, which could cause the criminal activity as acting out or trying to sovle an internal issue(like serial killers). Just a comment
