I haven't been trying to AP Lately, so...

Here's what happened. About 3 months ago, I started listening to the Newgrounds Audio Portal. The artists there have some great music, btw. So, I had my friend make me a CD of all the songs I liked a lot. First because I liked them, a lot, and second to give me something to concentrate on while trying to Astral Project. No, I haven't done it yet. I tried it last night, and from what happened, don't know whether to be scared or happy.
I had gotten to the 3rd track.

1. Flames of the Sky
2. Polynator
3.Spirits Within

It was about the middle I think when I realized that my eyes kept wanting to jerk around and stuff. So, I let them. And holy shi* did they ever... I think it was like REM sleep. After r about 30 seconds of that, some muscles on my body began to jerk around too. My heart rate began increasing a lot. I mean, it was like doing an intense workout. I measured it and it was 108 BPM. So, I don't know what the hell was happening. And I don't want to do it again until someone tells me what happened. I know you are supposed to be relaxed, but, I don't know.

Thanks Guys.

Hi Kitsune,
Did you have a busy day or just a hang-around day? I'm probably off on this, but if you have a lot of adrenaline saved up from a day where you did little or nothing and try to meditate sometimes, it can release all at once and speed up your heartbeat. Then, you need to breathe more, then you might hyperventilate and get dizzy, which might freak you out and release more adrenaline, etc. I never heard of the eye moving or jerking, though. That's why I said I might be wrong about what's going on with you. I had a girl friend who couldn't meditate at all when I met her because this always happened. It took awhile, but she can now. Hope it evens out for you. ~

First off, I would like to thank you for being the first person ever respond to one of my posts!!!  I play a lot of high-action onling games. Like Halo 2 on Xbox Live. I get reallly high strung when I play that. I also am addicted to caffeine. But the rising sensation, what was that? And was it right of me to stop? I start to see all of the flashing lights too.

Almost Solid

Well,
You're welcome. What rising sensation are you talking about?

I would HIGHLY discourage interactive games, because you're not moving. It's only mentally engaging and the 'fight or flight' mechanism is in overdrive. You're pumping tons of adrenaline when you're in a competative game (ugh also) but while playing VGs you're storing it up and using none. I would also HIGHLY discourage the excessive use of caffeinated drinks, but that would make me something of a hypocrite since I drink 6+ cups a day.

If you're system is screwy it's because in the world as God (the god of your choice) made it, there are no VGs and we we not designed for it. Listen to your system and live by its instructions. Some people are fine with it, but I found as I got older I've paid a price for all the time I spent interacting with entertainment machines. Haven't watched TV in years, stopped listening to the radio a few months ago, my system likes it much better.  :)

Well, thanks but, itsn't this computer worse than a TV or Radio? I'm a mixture of a Darwinist and Athiest. I don't believe in Gods, or Godesses, and I believe humans evolved from other simpler lifeforms. But anyway. The adrenaline is used because: Our bodies often can't tell the difference between reality, and virtual reality. When I'm in that game, try to capture the enemy flag, defend my own, or run/pursue and enemy my body thinks it's actually happening. The Caffience I'm addicted to, so wouldn't I be tolerant? It's doesn't do anything to me. I once drank something that made another person wired, and did nothing to me. I'm 13 and he's 50. Anyway! That's my take on it.

Nay

Hi Kitsune,

It sounds to me that you experienced the normal pre-exit sensations. :)

The rapid heartbeat isn't your physical heart but your heart chakra.  Hard to get used to that because you feel like it is going to beat right out of your chest, not to mention it feels like you are not getting enough air. :P

You just have to try and ignore it as best as you can and next thing you know you can float right out! :D  When this happens to me I think away from my physical.  For instance I imagine I'm walking around my room, or even outside and I get so into it the I forget about the rest.  You can also use the rope technique at this point too.   The point is to get your mind off the uncomfortable sensations that sometimes come with conscious projection.

I've noticed over the years that the rapid heart beat problem seems to not happen as much, so keep up the good work and let us know what happens!

Take Care,
Nay

Hi Kitsune,
God, nature, however we came into existence as a physical being. Just thinking there might be a medical explanation. Also said I'm probably wrong.

Can't say one way or the other about coffee, but maybe it can be disregarded. Listen to your body. Maybe Nay is right and you just have to ignore the sensations. I couldn't have when it happened to me last, but that shouldn't be a benchmark for future events.

Good luck either way. ~
