Hello Astral Projectioners!!

I was wondering if raising a family and finding time to project has limited ones obe's?

My wife and I will be adopting a baby in the future and I started to wonder if this would have any baring on my projections? Not that I would make the choice not to adopt based on this, but would it make it difficult for finding the time?

The think for the most part what will be good is the break in sleeping. When the baby cries during the night, I can get up, attend to the baby's needs and return back to bed - hence astral project.

Your thoughts are welcomed Mon and Dads.

Hi,

Mom of 3 here with a full time job.... I'd say most definitely it interferes with practice.  I still try though at night when I go to bed, the one thing I can say is at least you'll have the added bonus of the interrupted sleep method, if that's a method that works for you.

Hey Fliesatnite,

Thank You for the info. and reply. I would imagine like anything else its balance and finding that time to project. Especially, with children if you can center your time around naps when they are young that would be the best bet.

When you do project at night - is it always nighttime or daylight for you? How long have you been involved and projecting?

Well since I work during the day and only have the time at night when I am going off to sleep, I would say it's almost always nighttime.  But since my children are 15, 12, and 8... I am not as involved with the interrupted sleep patterns the way I used to be.  I try still though, since my husband's alarm goes off at 2:30 am.

I have had spontaneous OBE's since I was a very young child. The first one I can 'clearly document' was when I was 9.  Of course I didn't know what it was then, it was just wonderfully cool!

It wasn't until I was in my mid 30's that I'd had one that was 'verifiable' that I began to investigate what they were.  What I mean by verifiable, is while I was OoB I became aware of a murder and it unfolded in the news exactly as it had in my OBE.

Wow - I wouldn't want verification on something like that!  I did project last Monday and ran into this neighbor across the street where I lived with mom/dad back in the day. The guy told me he was murdered by his wife and his name was Bobby. How did your exp. unfold and what information did you obtain from it?


When I was younger (around 2-3) 1969-70 I exp. a projection but didn't realize it at the time and took if for a childhood memory that stuck with me. During other various times in my life leading up to 1988 I had faint projections but bordered on being drunk/false awakening.

It wasn't until 1988 that summer a friend introduced me to astral projection. 18yrs later I'm still projecting on/off, up until a few months ago I started to get very serious again. From 1988-1994 I was basically projecting almost everyday without fail and had alot of control over the hypnotic state.

Did you have impressions of who it was and where or just see the crime as 'somewhere' until the news report? I had one that wrecked me for a week and still bothers me sometimes, tons of details, but completely vague location-wise.

Tvos: I really did want verification solely for the purpose that as we all know how intense OBE's are, so for me to not even know what it was at the time the whole experience had me literally ill for days. This particular murder involved children, so it was very upsetting to me. So when I saw it on the news, sadly, I was relieved.  I had thought it was my sick mind creating some horrific event.  

It's a very long story, but in brief... I was looking 'out' through the woman's eyes, she was living with a man who had children from his first wife (her sister) and children with the woman I was viewing from.  They had 13 children total and could not afford them all so they chose 2 to kill of them, a boy and a girl. The story get's pretty graphic from there (the actual way in which they died) but suffice to say when it unfolded, all of the details (included who's who and the number of children, the way in which they'd been killed etc. were all exact details)

Almost Solid: No, at the time I didn't know 'where', but they lived less than 60 miles from my home, and they found the children (a brother and a sister) less than 20 miles from my home.  It was just 'somewhere' in my OBE.  So I knew the exact 'details' of why and how but not names or places or when.  

I had another one of a murder the next day after the one I wrote about above, (this was in 1997) I never saw it on the news, I only experienced it 'first hand'.  I happened to drive by the place where it happened about 4 months ago.  I had never been to that city but when I drove past it I almost fell out!  I immediately made the connection without a doubt.

I have had other ones where it wasn't a murder... they are disasters (usually plane crashes) where I do know the city and the reason the plane crashed sometimes up to 6 weeks prior to the event,  other times it's been within a week.  Go figure.

Want to share your experience Almost Solid?  I would love to hear it!

Tvos: I found your story about your neighbor Bobby to be quite intriguing.. do you often speak to the passed when you are out?  Was there something he wanted you to know?... as far as who murdered him?  Is Bobby's wife in prison for it?  Or was this sort of 'part of the conversation' with him?  (know what I mean?)

Do either of you see people that have passed in your waking moments?

There are a bunch of these, most pretty unhappy, I'm afraid. The one I mentioned above was like my state, Maine, but didn't seem it. This might have been in England or Ireland, though (?).

There was a pretty 10+/- year old girl with long black hair,who lived in a small rural rundown house with a mucky pond behind it. I saw her at some point during the events in the kitchen, sitting in a chair and combing her hair over and over. The kitchen is crystal clear in memory as well as the house exterior. First saw her with a boy who was a neighbor friend (?) at the right side of the house where there was an old, but like-new firetruck with an odd color, light powder green, reminiscient of the powder blue on the old late-50s Cadillacs. The top was shaped kind of roundish, two humps that I only saw from the back, might have had lights in them (?). I mention it only because I've tried online to find firetrucks like it and wonder if it was English (?). The kids were being kids and chasing each other around the truck and I got the impression that she had been told to stay away form it by her father, who was a huge and ill-tempered Scot or Irishman with black, curly hair. How I knew this is a mystery because I don't recall seeing him at all, but it's a strong impression. One reason it didn't seem like Europe was the father had an accent, but neither of the kids did. Anyway, while they were on opposite sides of the truck, the boy scratched the paint on the truck. I never saw it and I'm not even sure whether he wrote something or just scratched it by accident, but the girl was very worried she'd catch hell for it. I don't remember the boy leaving or the father coming home or anything that happened before the next visual of a lot of pain and looking up through long black hair and blood and crying to myself, "Daddy, why?" and then sinking into the pond and the scene going black. I can't imagine that her father would kill her for scratching the paint on his beloved firetruck, but getting some impressions from her perspective, maybe that's why she thought and it could have been some other reason? Who knows.

A lot of times I get pretty good impressions as to when and where, sometimes I wonder if it's something that's going to happen. Those are the ones that really bother me because there's no way to stop it.  

Fliesatnight, do you ever have the "do I tell the police?" dilemma on those where you have the details down?

Without a doubt I have considered going to the police, but like you said, we both know that:

A: It cannot be changed and / or
B: We become suspect
C: We'd sound crazy to them anyway

For those very simple reasons I have not shared anything with the police, I do however, keep a journal as do most of us here.

Your experience sounds very interesting, have you considered that 'green' truck to be not a 'fire truck' but a Department of Forestry truck?  In our local mountains here the Forestry trucks are very much like what you described.  Interesting...  also you mentioned the fact that you think it might be something that is 'going to happen' as opposed to already happened, have you ever had verification of any of these experiences?  
Either a newspaper article or through the television news?

Sorry to hear about that experience and wouldn't want to wish that on anyone. In some ways it kinda of reminds me of the movie frequency with Michael Keaton that was released not too long ago. I just wish that you had the ability to notify the authorities to stop the crimes before happening.  Have you tried tapping into this a little more and develop it to stop this from preventing?

As for your questions - I've on occasion ran into deceased relatives or friends.  It just so happen that this last experience I had happen to be a neighbor across the street that I was talking with. I asked her if we could hold hands talk and walk. During out walk, she turned into a man that was pretty husky for his size, brown hair, around his 40's. All I could remember is asking his name two times and if he was alive or dead. When he told me that he was deceased I said to him sorry and offered my prayers.

I think you are referring to the movie White Noise, I did see that movie, but I didn't care all that much for it.  I guess it was the whole "bad guy coming after the living" through the t.v. thing that bugged me.  But that's just my personal .02 on it.

I understand what you're saying about trying to prevent something, but my belief system doesn't support that I or anyone else can alter the future/present/past to that extent.  Small adjustments, perhaps.  But not things of that grand a scale.  But that's a whole other arena to cover and if I went in that direction on time and precognition it probably should be posted in another forum.  

Not that I wouldn't want to cover it mind you, it's just that there is SO much that goes into all of this that it's incredibly easy for me to go off on a tangent with it.

I have tapped into it more and although (thankfully) it's been quite some time since I've had one of THOSE experiences, I have what seems to have morphed into something else altogether.  I do still have the occasional plane crash OBE, had one last week as a matter of fact!  That one, I knew the location and the way it was going to go down.

Fliesatnight, verification for one of these 'events' was pretty definite, at least for my interests. It's in the 'Time Travel' post down a few on this menu. I debated for years about calling the police, but for your perfectly-put reasons of discretion, I put it off. I asked some open-minded friends whether or not I should report it and they said "yes", they told me that there was one cool old guy at this particular department among a bunch of bad-reputation cops. I never got in touch with him or the parents, who I hear generally would rather know so they can 'close the door' on the disappearance. But....  

Verification, even for self-curiosity is a nowhere thing. What's the point? It's not exactly a 'gift' and no one benefits. I didn't know if there was maybe some way of improving the ability to follow up on what you already knew, maybe it's a gift you have to train for, like having a good voice, but need to get singing lessons? These things just come out of the blue and unless you see the news report or get the info from some other source, you're just left to wonder.

As for the firetruck story, nothing since to corroborate any of it. Don't know whether past or future on this one- or if I saw it more or less as it happened. It was afternoon in the AP and night here, so if that were the case, maybe it was Europe??? Sometimes dreams are so realistic it's a challenge to tell them from these back/forward APs (I'm sure there's a technical  name for them, but I always called them space/time jumps). you wake up and it's still with you in a bad way, but after some time and common sense analysis things don't add up. When it's the real deal, though, there's no question. You just KNOW that it wasn't a trick of the mind. Something very distinct sets it apart. In some post or other I mentioned that gaining control over these useless 'visions' was my main objective. Some psychics list their gifts to help/hire out in investigations and the police call them if they want their services. With this type, there isn't enough info to be usefull and you're not working on a case that's been given you (and can't). You just see something awful and know too little and can't tell the police. Again...  

The impression I got was that it was a firetruck, but whether it said 'Fire Department' on the doors I don't remember. Don't think it did, so maybe you're right.... since the truck sounds familiar, is it possible that it happened in your state? That would be a pretty wild synchronistic coming together of the details, huh? It happened kind of that way in the story I wrote on the 'Time Travel' post if you check it out.

Fliesatnight, do you (or anyone here) know if the ability can be controlled/improved somehow?

About verification I've been chasing this all my life and I don't know why I persist on this when I'm no stranger to obe's. I think the reason that this fuels me is to help my relatives, family, and friends.

Everything is a gift from god - your spouse, your health, your life and the good with the bad. Projection isn't anything different IMO. Some people been trying for decades to project and others can leave within months.

Thanks for the bump, it's fun to go back and re-visit some of these.

As I was reading them, and some of your questions, I realize now that I didn't interpret them the way you meant them to be.

You asked in an earlier post : Whether I knew it was day or night time while I was out.  

Yes, I have had both types of experiences.  The one with the 'woman and the children' was daytime.  When I was viewing through her eyes I could see intricate details of her apartment.  The carpeting, the mesh on her screen door as she was looking into the courtyard area of the complex that they lived in, the fountain that no longer worked was old, dirty and in disrepair.  Where the grass was, or should have been was brown, flattened and mostly dirt.  Things like that are not only key elements in my OBE's but also define the differences between normal dream states and astral traveling.

When I am 'floating' on a plane I can see the faces of people, their luggage and hear the murmurs of conversations, as if I am in the room with them.  I guess in a way, I really am, they just can't see me.  I have a good idea as to where the plane is, either the airport or sometimes the state where it's going.

Recently, maybe about 3 or 4 months ago I did have several OBE's in which women were involved.  One of them took place on a freeway where a woman 'jumped' from her SUV and was killed.  I did get a first name in this one.  The OBE lasted perhaps 20-30 seconds, more like a movie in fast forward.  I received the information sort of all at once.  The name I got was Amy.  I woke up, showered and, as usual, turned on the t.v. to listen to the news as I was getting ready for work.

I hear a story unfolding about a woman who had 'jumped' from a moving vehicle, (a limo) on a local freeway.  Of course this caught my attention, so I went to look at the television. This limo was a hummer (or SUV) and this woman, after a night of partying with some friends opened the window and jumped out.  When the news mentioned her name... Jennifer I think it was, I was thinking.. okay just a coincidence, it's not Amy.  But as it turned out, this woman, Jennifer had used her roommate's I.D. and credit cards to rent the limo.  Her roommates name was Amy.

After that one, I had another weird OBE where I saw a woman getting into a car on the side of the freeway.  She was hitchhiking.  All of the places she'd been to were flashing in my view like a slide show.  Very fast and very quick, but a part of me was able to discern what they were... restaurants, truck stops, gas stations and information as to some states she'd been to entered my mind.  Then this lady came back to her brothers house and fell into a construction type ditch in her brothers backyard.  He didn't help her, he just watched her fall in and let her die.  This woman, for some reason I got her first and last name.  

I looked up a site that we have available here, it's a public site for traffic tickets, arrests, family courts, all things connected to the county courthouse. You can search by using a name.  Well, as it turns out, there happens to be a lady with the exact name with quite a bit of a rap sheet so to speak that fits the woman's age I 'dreamed' about.  The strange thing is her name is not a common name.  

My questions are... IF in fact these people and events are real, what to do with the information? I ask myself, is this training? Am I supposed to learn how to 'read' these OBE's and learn from them? Is it sort of a private class with a private tutor? LOL   By the way, these particular experiences were all spontaneous OBE's.  

How about you? Have you adopted as of yet and if so, has it affected your own OBE's?

Our adoption probably won't happen until next year summer which my wife and I will travel to China to pick up our daughter "Noel". btw: www.adoptnoel.com is the web site I put together.

I am excited very but also nervous and anxious with fear. All those emotions mixed into one. But I think it will be a learning experience and balance with OBE's. At the most part, it will be a interesting topic when your daughter asks "So Dad, whats all these books on leaving the body, astral projection and a web site called InvisibleLight". :)

I don't know about you, but having validations of precognitive event of a persons death wouldn't be my forte. I do feel however that there is a link, higher power sharing this information with you. Maybe to prevent, learn, share to the world this knowledge.  If at most, its definitely a experience to share. Have you looked around the net for others who've had these type of experiences and see what they communicate to you?

I want to share also, that not all of my OBE's are of death.  I have had many wonderful ones as well, more of the latter than the death ones.  It's just that when I 'view' through someone else, the good ones don't make the news, so they aren't easily validated.  

To answer your question if I've ever met or been able to share these experiences with others, the answer is yes and no.  I have spoken with people who are able to OBE and view through another persons eyes, and I have spoken with people who have 'precog' dreams, but not both at the same time.  Either one or the other.  Which is one of the reasons I came to this board, to search for people with like interests and perhaps share experiences and compare notes.  

Unfortunately, I seem to be still searching for answers.  No, that's hasty, I shouldn't have said unfortunately, as that is something we should do continually, never stop searching for answers.  It seems when we find an answer to one thing, another question take it's place.  That's a good thing.

So.. if anyone has had these types of experiences and would like to share some insight, I'm more than willing to be receptive to their thoughts and ideas.  Don't get me wrong here either, it doesn't consume me with sadness or even depression.  I embrace every bit of what I've got with humility and thank fullness.  As I said, it isn't only bad things I see.  Once when I was viewing from inside a woman (to make this extremely brief) I was able to 'feel' the love and devotion she had for her husband and that in itself was amazingly wonderful.

As for knowing about people's deaths it doesn't really get to me anymore... it's all a part of living isn't it?  It's merely a shift in consciousness, but that's just my humble opinion.

You are definitely right about validation, chasing the answers to ones questions. I can understand completely where you are coming from - especially after projecting for such a long time.

I do notice that if I project, there might be a symbolic event which will then turn up one day. I've been keeping my validation journals too and its nice to track. Eliminates that excuse "ahh, its just coincidence"...:)

Symbolic validation? As in a synchronistic way?  Do you see something in your travels out of the ordinary and then come across it in your wakeful state?

I had an OBE the night before last which was really, really, weird.  Perhaps if you don't mind I might pm you with a synopsis and see what your thoughts on it are.  I would post it here, but I'm not sure I want the backlash of opinions.  Since it was a very spiritual one.  *shrugs*

Yes, I've had validations in the past year. To be exact I've had over 11 validations. Some of it with playing cards, precognition trance, or physical.

I don't know what the the debris stood for when I was out on my mom/dads front lawn. Maybe someone was telling me to clean my house..or cut the lawn..:)

I remember you doing your experiments with the playing cards.  I tried, in vain I might add to do an experiment with dice.  It would seem that when I do go 'out' I'm not the least bit interested in what numbers I rolled on the dice.

Yes, the playing cards seemed actually easy, but many trial by error attempts. The best I can suggest is to tape the playing card to the back of your door in your bedroom and door to the front. This way you'll see the card on your way out when exiting. Just tape the top part so its easier to see and remove.

That's interesting how you saw the bag of trash on your parents lawn.  Even though it wasn't exactly what was in the bag, it was still verifiable.  Which brings to mind a question, is it our mind that interprets the imagery that makes the changes? Or is it perception? Or is that one and the same?

That reminds me of one I had recently.  It was a Saturday morning and I had been waking up and going back to sleep.  My husband had gotten up before me as usual so I kept drifting in and out of sleep.  The next thing I'm aware of is I am floating in my garage, up near the rafters and I'm watching him wash the car.  I float around in the garage, but keep bumping into the rafters. Then I woke up.

I get up, go downstairs and into the garage and there he is, washing the car.  

There were some subtle differences between my OBE and the 'real world' so to speak.  I did validate him washing the car, but the lighting was different.  The position of the car was different, maybe that was due to perception?

You deffinitely hit home a strong point about how our physical or astral mind interprets visuals. Like what Robert Bruce states about the download process to the physical can easily become distorted. That's why its so important to write down the experiences seconds later so that there's no physical brain rational intervening.

I think a lot of what we see during the experience is thought forms, past-present-future. Where our subconscious mind clothes people around to familiar loved ones and friends. Example: lately, I've been trying to project outside and rest on this wooden wheel spool. My goal is simply do nothing but only observe. Study, view, experiment a little but only to watch the changes that take place. By rights, every time that I project that wheel should be there in the back of my yard. I had just rolled it out there a few weeks ago. So far, I've not yet had the chance to see the wheel. When I do, will it look the same, color, tone, texture blah blah blah.

Its like the same thing with the playing card technique. The cards were there because after awhile I created that energy for it to be there each time I am obe. I believe the same applies when we see objects, people, events in the astral because of influences with energy.

I feel and believe what we see at the time is exactly the way we see it, but influenced by other people's thoughts and environmental energy.
