Hey all, I have lessons given to me on various topics by spirit friends, occasionally in dreams, its great learning in your sleep!
Recently I was thinking about telekinesis over a few days, and a friend gave me a little lesson in a dream.

Is any one here proficient or had any success with telekinesis, and is there any practical use? cos I cant think of one.

Best, Marcus X

If you were told that you already practiced 'telekinesis' on a regular basis but just did not know it and that it took longer to do than what you expected, what would your reaction be?

The point of telekinesis? I can think of a few:

Firstly it's a challenge. Why climb mount Everest? What's the point in solving complex mathematics? Why find out what the highest possible prime number is? The answer to all of those questions is simple - it's a challenge. It's a defiant test of human ability. Something that you do with all your heart and passion if you want to be really really good. And when you are very good, you hope to achieve a sense of accomplishment.

Secondly, it's somewhat enlightening. I can tell you that when I "perform" telekinesis I have uncovered, or rather, relearned, a very powerful truth about the nature of our universe. And it's so powerful that my conscious mind can only fiddle with words to describe what I've learned. It's one of those deep down meaningful things, like being in love, but not so emotional ^_^;

Thirdly, it's psychically enhancing. If you seek to be psychic and to be able to do psychic things, you practice everything that comes with the package. And because everything is so interconnected, practice in telekinesis should be able to benefit you in every other practice.

The last reason I can think of is that it is like a practical application of meditation - poetry in motion. Like in martial arts, you clear your mind to get the best results and teach your reactions how to move. You feel the rhythm of battle, the poetry and artistry of combat and contact with another human being. You feel secure. In telekinesis, you calm your mind and silence doubtful and outer thoughts to reach a deeper level of thought to be able to control what you are trying to control. It's a way of focusing our minds for the better.

Oh, I almost forgot. It's hella fun ^_^

Hope that helps

one more reason: proof to yourself that TK its real.

I love you!

Let's see...

- Getting things down from the top shelf
- Freeing trapped animals
- Picking up stuff off the ground that's too yucky to touch
- Turning the pages of your book while you're on the treadmill
- Closing the door when you don't feel like getting up

Thank you for bringing this up. I'm interested in what reasons others have for doing TK (among other things I find bemusing), because, although I try, I inevitably come to the conclusion, "wait, if I could do that, I'd be dreaming," because TK is a characteristic of the dreamworld. That's what makes the dreamworld so special.

Doing it while awake is a conflict of interest. Wanting to TK while awake is wanting to dream.

That said, none of the reasons that anyone has presented so far are very good, at least in my purview. Because once you saved that kitten from the tree, you would not stop until the whole of reality was changed - just as in a dream.

Why not just admit that you wish you were dreaming?

It's something most people don't even believe is possible!

That's enough to interest me.

PS: Send those friendly spirits in your dreams over to me when you're done with them.  :D

Hey Telos, why would that be a dream?

If spirit can utalise a mediums energy to move an inanimate object then why cant we move it ourselves.

I am still of mind that TK is obviously of limited practical use, but then so is running ten miles and i do that regularly.

Is there a limit to how far some one could develop TK? IE could some one move a car?

Telos

Because mind is not a quantity.

This is quite a frustrating paradox in the New Age movement. We say the mind is "infinite," but that we're all "one," ignoring the contradiction such that we give a qualitative assessment of the universe as an immeasurable singular being.

And then we turn around and quantify spirit - saying that it is made up of energy, which can be "channeled," raised, lowered, volatile, sustained, stored, etc. If it is quantifiable then it (or its effects) must be measurable within some order of magnitude. Many spiritualists say that spirit is not easily measurable, that you cannot put a ruler up to it and see it. Yet, they fail to give even an estimate of a measurement, should it be possible. I can estimate the number of steps between Los Angeles and New York, even if such measurement is impossible due to complex variables like winding roads and step length. There's no excuse for implying a quantifiable nature of spirit yet failing to measure it. It's stupefying, really.

In dreams there is no need for quantification. The qualification between knowing that one is dreaming and not knowing that one is dreaming is everything. So-called "degrees of lucidity" only prevent a correct assessment that one is dreaming. There's no in between, "I'm dreaming a little" or "I only have some control," because if you think these things then you don't realize that you are in dreaming. Qualification is everything.

Not so in real life. Quantification is quite significant. How much unhealthy food until you are fat, how much exercise until you are hurt, how little money until you are poor, how tall until you are able to ride safely on the rides at the amusement park, how dense until an object sinks in water, how hot until your water boils, or... how much movement of an object until one is performing TK?

Say that I am the owner of IBM. There's just one IBM, right? It may have many assets, holdings, and reserves, but the fact that all of it together is "IBM" is a qualitative assessment. Now say that I sell the company for $6 billion. Now it is no longer IBM per se but a collection of marketable objects totaling a sum of money. This is a quantitative assessment.

Now imagine that IBM is infinity. Quantifiably assess it (i.e., try to "sell" it). I'll make it easier. Try to sell a part of it. Not even a big part. Try to sell a pencil that's on someone's desk. Who's going to buy it? With what? IBM is infinity. You already own the buyer. You would have to buy IBM from yourself, which means that nothing will have changed.

I move the universe and in turn the universe moves me. Same thing, no change, no TK.

I used the allegory of a company not as a monetary satire of worldly wants and desires, which is sometimes offensive to spirituality, but I will parlay it with a more direct example just in case this caused confusion.

Say that a young girl named Edith is practicing her TK on a pencil. She wants to be good at it, and we of course want her to succeed. So, how do we know when she succeeds? Essentially, we say the pencil must move some distance while Edith is already at some distance. Telekinesis requires a quantifiable assessment, which means that it requires a measurable quantity.

Mind is not a measurable quantity, though. If it was, we would justifiable say that one human is more human than another, deserves more human rights, etc. Interestingly, this has actually been so in some civilizations, so perhaps mind is a measurable quantity, and one person is more likely to TK than another - because TK is the process of moving something by the mind only (assuming that "person-ness" and "mind-ness" are correlated or the same).

There are such facets of mind that are measurable, however, like just noticeable differences, intelligence, acumen, speed, etc. But do any of these contribute to TK? No, because TK is movement by the mind only. If we applied our intelligence would require the use of some faculty, like using a magnet to attract the object or even ask someone to get the object for us. What about applying intelligence towards a "TK faculty?" But TK is not an ability. That's the whole point. It's not something you do, but something you wish would happen without your interaction. An effortless display played before us yet aligned with our intentions. A dream.

[Edit: Now that I remember - Frank is big on saying that everything is made up of consciousness, but there is "less" in things like rocks or pebbles and "more" in things like animals and people. I'd like to ask him how he measures that... (atomic mass, structural complexity, etc.) ]

Hey Telos, thank you for your detailed answer and explanation of your thoughts, I followed and understood your analogies very well and agree with much of what your saying.

I'm sure I would enjoy having a one on one conversation with you.

However, I still wouldn't personally consider a fully conscious and awake demonstration of TK a dream any more than say making a cup of coffee! but i do understand your view.
