Hi Sarrk,

there are many ways to "visualise". Here are a few methods that have common themes but differ in terms of the physical senses employed. There are also many reasons why people "visualise", ranging from day-to-day living through to magical practice.

1) Stare at an object (e.g. an apple) for 2 or 3 minutes, study every detail. Now, close your eyes and imagine the apple, in your mind's eye. Try and imagine every detail, & also how it looked as a whole.

2) Imagine being in an elevator, on floor 100. The elevator doors are open, yet you are going down - you can see the bricks of the lift shaft passing as you descend, & you can see the floors change "100 - 99  - 98". Try and imagine how the bricks look as they go past, & try and sense the sublte feeling of the elevator heading downwards.

3) Think of your favourite song.... sing it in your head, but include all the instruments. Make it as clear and accurate as you can.

4) Think about what you did when you awoke this morning, and replay every single tiny event, every detail, in your mind's eye.

Kind regards,
Mark

Yes ! But as with everything, the key is to PRACTICE.

Try doing it for 5mins in the morning, & 5mins at night, every day for a month. At the end of the month, look back and see how much you have improved....

10minutes a day sounds easy - but I guarantee you'll find excuses like "I'm too tired - I'll do it tomorrow" or "I haven't got the time".

Give it a go.

what exactly does visualization help you with?

Ybom

Visualization can help to strengthen your memory, prepare you for the worst, send you to a far off land in a story, or even help guide your actions when you don't know what to do.

I personally believe that there is a higher order to visualization, and sometimes what you see in your mind couldn't possibly be from yourself. In this sense, visualization can become a faith builder.
