was wondering what peoples views are that nasa discovered a new planet behind pluto...

*shrugs* there are probably more planets in our solar system, i mean if it took this long just to find a 10th planet (besides technicly there is 11 planets, sedna though they decided not to count it as a planet due to it being smaller than pluto is still technicly a planet).

2012? I am assuming this is the year aliens reveal themselves to humans? Correct? No? I am a noob here so I apologize for the foolish question.

Nah, there's just a date in December of 2012 that the Mayans held in extremely high regard for some spiritual purpose. All their calendars ended on that date, because it's the end of a large cycle, so a lot of people assumed that the world was therefore going to end according to the Mayans, etc. I'm not aware of the Mayans ever saying what would physically happen then, if anything, but the cycle itself at least was apparently pretty important to them.

This new planet business seems like it's becoming pretty trivial. I'm still waiting for the body that's pulling on the outer planets to be discovered. They know it's out there because of the great amount of gravity it exerts. So where is it?

I think the scientists/astronomers have named the tenth planet "Sedna".

It's got this wacko,6000 year elliptical orbit, I think.

nah, sedna's a totally different thing, they decided not to classify sedna as a planet due to its size

the winter solstice of the year 2012, primarily marks the end the the World of the 5th sun [according to Mayan calenders]. a lot of people believe this means the "end of the world" because the see the words: end of the world. haha, but as was mentioned above, it is just the end of a large cycle. most people misinterpret this, however. they didn't mean to send out the message that we are all going to die, or that all of our computers are going to all of a sudden, gain intelligence and take over, or some other absurd thing like that. if you'll notice, we are in the world of the 5th sun currently. the human race has survived through the first 4 cycles, only, they have changed, and evolved. most people, my self included, believe that at the end of the 5th sun we will not all die from some horrific death, but rather evolve. if you all haven't heard of Edgar cayce, i would highly recomend reading a book on him. he gives fascinating infromation regarding all of these kinds of things. he used what we most all know to be the akashic records. if you're really interested in that kind of stuff, you should check him out. he goes back into human history a lot further than most think to be possible, and also gives a lot of intersting foresights. the end

but arent these galactic cycles one with human nature, that we and our own cycles are one and the same as the ones going on in space?
I get the feeling its all like the inside of a clock, that all the different cogs work together to come out with the same thing...
SOMEthing is gonna change, something like this cant come and go without some kind of evolution or metamorphoses, its like the time scale of planets like days are to us. We'll wake up and think "its a new day" but this is the equivalent for earth.
I dont think were all just gonna "shift" into a new awareness within seconds of it being 2012, but for something NOT to happen or be affected is like an entire festivle going on without anyone seeing or hearing it...
how many natural disasters have been this year counting the recent pakistan earthquakes.. .?

Have you heard the theory of a tenth planet that will come sailing by and cause all kinds of planetary chaos? Could this be where the apocalyptic stories come from? The great flood? Maybe the Mayan date 2012 has to do with this happening. Even if it is the natural order of things. The ancients were a lot smarter than we give them credit for, you know. Any ideas?
