I've had what I believe to have been astral wind experiences a few times. When I read that part in AD it really hit home and he explained what was happening really well. For me I will be in real time usually shortly after the exit and I am still close to my body when I will become paralized in my real time body and then be sucked backward towards my body by a uncontrolable force. I think I am being pulled back into my body but I will float pass my body and into my closet or wall. At that point I feel I am being blown through a tunnel at the speed of light when suddenly it stops and I either find myself somewhere in the astral realm or I wake up paralized back in my physical body. In the latter case I believe I still ended up in the astral plane but lost all shadow memories of the experience. What do you think? is this a astral wind experience or just a tube-type entrance structure?

I don't know if I am talking about the same thing or not. Once while laying in
bed semi conscious I heard loud windy noises as though I was going through a hurricane force wind.  I thought to my self, "Jesus Christ that wind is blowing I wonder how much more this building will take"! It wasn't like a dream it was as if I were being jarred out of my sleep by a large storm.

After I was fully awake I raced over to the window to take a look at the carnage but their was no sign of a storm.  Where I live it is almost always mild warm weather and the wind rarely blows. It was nice, warm and calm.

WEIRDZLY!

Not really, once iwanted to go to the moon and found myself rushing away. Usually I can go were I think. However i wonder if it is the wind that makes projections easier near the full moon?

In the world in general and in this nation
May not even the names disease, famine, war, and suffering be heard.
May virtuous qualities, merit, and prosperity greatly increase
And may continuous good fortune and subline well-being perfectly arise.

Leyla

yes- I posted on it before. I was trying to enter these weird stone buildings on the astral but couldn't- the wind kept pushing me back out.

Hi there,
Yes, we had arranged a group out of body meeting at the Red Pyramid. I found myself standing on the side of the pyramid, all alone, about two thirds of the way up in a very strong wind. Other members encounted the wind keeping them from the meeting. Others dreamed of strong wind stroms.

This is only one of our group experiences, about a year and a half ago. What does Robert say about these winds? I haven't read his new book?

Yes, I was relaxing and I started to sink and get into trance then I Let one slip and it woke me up and ruined the projection attempt.

There are many definitions of astral wind, for example:
Astral Winds

Astral winds are an invisible force that picks you up and takes you to certain places / scenario's. Most of the time they take you to a place which is important to you. You may or may not realise this at the time though. Astral Winds are connected to your subconscious. You can successfully ask for a wind to take you somewhere, but 90% of the time they take you whether you want to or not. Do not be frightened, they will do you no harm, and often take you to interesting places.

I suggest everyone read about astral wind in Astral Dynamics....
I will try to post more about it soon...

I read about astral winds in Robert Bruce's book. I must say, I was blown away (bad pun) by his astral description on page 437. Thanks so much for suggesting reading on this subject. I have not read all of his book. At the time I bought his book,I was more into learning about dreams. Much of the dream material I found was very clinical and rigid (alpha state etc.), which is fine but I felt there is more to it than that. I like Robert Bruce's attitude about things. He seemed more free and open to possibilities than standard dream information books. This dream on page 437 just proves that to me.
I wonder if he ever figured out what the dream scene in front of his house meant? Brick wall is a barrior, refrigerator and it's contents can have different meanings. The wife's anger and leaving is very interesting. I wonder if this dream scene is literal or metaphorical? And, I wonder if his wife represented herself, or an aspect of himself? This is so interesting!
The astral wind sounds like the same wind I was describing to Leyla about her experience.
I know a little about this wind from personal experience. How exciting to read that this wind was involved in this dream.

I'll have to write up my personal experience with this wind and how I think I was able to apply it in a situation I was in.  I'll post it here when I'm done.

I don't know if this qualifies, but I used to have the experience of what felt like a sensation of a strong wind blowing over me while I lay in that peculiar 'twilight' state, where you're not fully awake, but not fully asleep either.  It would last for perhaps 15 or 20 seconds and start to fade, at which time I would awaken.

At the job where I work (graveyard shift) I would go into one of the rooms for my break.  I'd turn on the vent to heat the room, and as the place I work is fairly old, it was fairly loud.  After lying down to rest, and again while in the twilight state, the sound of the vent would morph into what sounded like a windstorm.  I didn't feel any wind blowing over me, but the sound was definately one of a strong wind, somewhat like a gale.  After about a minute or two it would fade back into the sound of the vent and I would awaken.

In this same room I used to sense the presense of entities, and had a brief 'encounter' with them once.

Thank you Windameir, I did later and discovered that. oops !

I'm not so sure about this being the same as the astral wind depicted in Astral Dynamics. However after reading about the akashic pulse in the book, I wonder if there isn't a connection. I had a couple of wind experiences, first one was the beginning of summer 2000, the second was the end of summer this same summer. I have tried to put this experience into words and I can't. The best way to describe it is it was a fairly noticible wind blew in on me from my back door. There was a feel to this strong breeze that changed me. I can't put into words the changes but it felt like it changed my molecular structure (or maybe just mentally?). I became aware of a new dimension. I learned about things before I even knew the names of things. Things like synchronicity, paradox, afterlife, negative energy, darkforces, symbols, auras, chakras, etc. At the beginning it was frightening but I adjusted to this new way of seeing and experiencing things. I began having what I know now as obes.
The second time this wind flowed in my back door my daughter was sitting next to me. I gripped her arm in fear because I knew what happened the other time and I didn't know what to expect. My daughter looked at me and said "What's the matter?" Apparently she didn't get the same feel as I did so I didn't say anything to her. This time I had no after effects of this wind. I'm not sure what the second round of this wind meant. But it did serve as a reminder to me how all this new learning started.  Since this time I began having dreams I can readily recall. I began a dream journal at the time of my first dream in my new living phase. Before this I may have had a dream once or twice a year. I was thrilled to be having regular dreams. I began learning about dreams by reading. I began looking up about all these things I was experiencing. I was also thrilled to learn what all this new and strange stuff that was obvious in my new awareness. The downside of all this was the negative aspect which comes I guess with this new enlightenment phase I was in. I had to learn how to deal with the dark side of living.
But, I understood why I had to experience some darkness.
Synchrocity at first had to be worked through in a series of things I can't explain or put into words.

Before I read ASTRAL DYNAMICS, I would have thought "astral wind" was something you got after eating "astral beans".

I'm unable to speak from any personal experience here, but from some of these descriptions it sounds like there is an intelligence behind this wind.  It's either guiding some people to something as P.W. suggests, or in Leyla and Donna's case, preventing them from going somewhere.

James.

Has anyone here experienced the phenomenon of "Astral Wind"?

If so, please share your experience if you feel so inclined.

Also, for those of you who have not but have read about it in AD or in other places, what do you think about it?  I find Robert's theory fascinating.  If it is true, then Astral Wind is very important.

Hello everyone. Earlier this week I had a dream which developed into an OBE I think. And there I experienced astral wind. The AD link above in the (old, OLD) thread isn't working or it could be just my connection's fault. Well, let's move on to the dream and the experience I had:

I was in the second floor of my old comprehensive school. I threw something on the floor breaking it and I yelled "I can't take this anymore, I haven't learnt anything in Maths!" A female who appeared to be a teacher looked at my with an amazement. I ignored her and walked to the end of the hallway and was going to walk down some stairs. Before opening a door that lead to the staircase the scene transformed into an outside view of a town, it was daytime there. I stood next to a white, wooden gate. I opened the lock and was about to step into darkness when I heard loud shouts behind me. I turned around was back in the school hallway. Dozens of people - polices, teachers and students looked at me as if they were frightened. They wanted me to stay in the light. I pondered a while and decided not going through the gate.

By this point I noticed that I was lucid in a dream. I turned around and was back in the town, actually my home city. I walked away from the gate for about 10 meters, tried to close it using just my thoughts and to my amazement I succeeded! I had never done anything like that! I could control stuff and then tried to lift a car in the parking lot. It wasn't moving and I figured it was too heavy (later in the physical I thought of this behaviour as kind of "Wild one" as Monroe describes it). Then I wanted to fly, I hadn't done that either, ever. I jumped in the air and flew past a skyscraper that had grown next to me like a mushroom. It was not daytime anymore, dark and rainy, black clouds in all directions.

Soon I noticed that I wasn't controlling the flight. I wasn't afraid though. I didn't see anything in the dark but I felt that I was travelling to the other side of the Earth. I wasn't facing in the direction I was being pulled to but watching to where I came from. I had read about how Donald DeGracia described astral wind in his obe e-book. It felt exactly the same. Then I remembered he was talking about a very surreal, beautiful view in the direction of the wind. I tried to turn myself around but the wind changed course, it felt like going out of this solar system. I relaxed and then the wind started to weaken and I stopped somewhere, in a complete darkness. Something told me in my mind that I was on the threshold of a "third kingdom/consciousness." I knew there was something very beautiful. I had a feeling that I should open my eyes. Then I started to hesitate. I have experienced similar dreams where I'm tempted to open my eyes and every time I opened the ones in the physical instead of astral eyes or something. So I was afraid of waking up. I lost my consciousness and faded out.

Never before this experience I couldn't tell if I was just dreaming or having an OBE. But this one really felt like one as I recognised the wind. It also felt very real besides I had a very blurry vision as my dreams tend to have. I think I may have got rid of that vision if I had opened my astral eyes.

I hope to experience this again.
Things have a tendency to turn out alright
