presence in church

hi
for awhile now i have been feeling a presence all across my chest and it mostly happens when i am in church. I usually feel a pressure across my chest and it has been happening for awhile but lately the pressure has been getting stronger and it becomes harder to breath. It has happened a few times outside of church but mostly just during church. I am not sure what it is so i am asking for your opinion of what it is and what i should do.

I wish i knew buddy but generally speaking, when your in Church any negs that might or might not be in you try to resist the positive atmosphere and this pressure that your feeling is actually a good things that drives out negs.

That depends largely on the cumulative intentions of those in the church.  If they are truly good people, then that is possible, then again, if the church, like many where I live, are focused on things such as the "gay rights issues" and trying to keep part of the community from having equality, then that can breed a type of hatred, which may be creating an atmosphere conflicting with a good entity that is co-existing in our friend here.  The position to take is to look at the atmosphere of the place you are in.  What is the overall intention of the congregation?  If that doesn't jive with you for ethical reasons, and those same ethics are shared by others outside of this church, it may be high time to look for alternate places of worship!

The presence you felt was an 'Unmanifested Presence' if it bothers you ask it to unmanifest. UP's are good at that.  

It's my opinion that it was the 'Unmanifested Presence' and you came here so I could tell you it was so.

Perhaps you are just getting very emotional and it's sticking in your chest.   Kinda like....have you ever held back crying and you get that lump in your chest/throat?  Kinda like that and you just haven't been able to make out the emotion?

I get the feeling that what you're experiencing is not the presence of some entity, but the emergence of a (possibly) repressed emotional state within you that you are now being asked to deal with.

As we step out on any kind of spiritual path, we must gradually deal with those things within us that have the potential to restrict our progress towards living in a state of love. Negative or withheld emotions make up the largest part of these things. The further down a spiritual path we go, the deeper we must look within ourselves.

It is quite common and quite natural for these feelings to present themselves as either a pressure in your chest, as it is the energies present around your heart that are the most affected, or they are presented as a heaviness in your stomach. Whenever you feel these sensations (and you know you haven't recently eaten anything spicy) honour the feeling by searching your heart for emotions that you might holding on to that are doing you no good. If you are not sure of what the emotion might be, pray - ask for divine guidance on what the emotions might be and how best to deal with them. Trust that the answer will come.

Before you do, make sure you are somewhere that you are comfortable being, i.e., not that church.  Kinda hard to be receptive to divine inspiration when you are feeling like you are dealing with a demon, or, as James says, fighting with a taco dinner.  =]

I never really thought of it like that but that is a very interesting theory. I will try to open up a bit more and pray to help me find the right way.

just to put another thought out there, It could be someone that knows you and goes to your church that is doing this. I know I've had some nasty reactions to some people's auras for example. Another idea is that you may have a link to someone that is experiencing something at the moment. If you goto church at the same time each week, it could be they have something happen to them or do something then too... Just though some more possibilities could be helpful...
