There were rows of elaborite writing carved into huge slabs of stone. I could not identify the language.

When I came back to my body I only remembered two of the letters.

It looks like some form of runic. It was on these buildings I saw

These runes seem to most closely resemble the Elder Futhark (ancient Germanic)  Runic alphabet, although both also appear in the later Anglo-Saxon Futhork alphabet with largely the same meaning.

The right hand symbol most closely resembles the Runic letter 'T', known as 'teiwaz', the god Tyr.

The left hand symbol most closely resembles the Runic letter 'I', known as 'laguz', which means 'water' or 'sea'.

So you have two symbols referring to the god Tyr and to water or the sea.

Your symbols don't match exactly but are close enough: Check them out here: http://www.omniglot.com/writing/runic.htm

Just to make things as bit more confusing however, the left hand 'water' symbol actually matches 'T' or Tyr in the later Younger Futhark!

After a little research I found there are literally thousands of runic alphabets. God knows where these come from.

The one on the left is "lang;" the one on the right is similar to tyr, but has two arrow heads instead of one.

Anyway, there were rows of elaborite writing carved into huge slabs of stone.

I think they were graves.

To make the quest even more difficult- I have just learned there are many OTHER languages which look almost identical runic, but are not really runic.

If I saw it on a building I would deduce it means 1st floor above.

FOR THE LAST TIME:

THERE WERE MANY LETTERS FORMING WORDS, AND MANY WORDS FORMING SENTENCES, AND MANY SENTENCES FORMING PARAGRAPHS.

When I came back to body- those were the only two letters of the language I could REMEMBER.

1st floor???? What do you think I was in some kind of astral high-rise? There were ancient looking stone graves. Vault or cell-type chambers to mausoleums.

(was trying to get into my past lives)

Well, if you're going to make that much fuss about it, then we won't bother answering at all!

Let me explain, Doug

What you don't realize is, people kept e-mailing me off the board saying over and over that they were numbers or a sign marker, because they hadn't read the post clearly.

That is why I felt it necessary to post, in all caps, that there were more than just two letters on the building.

I've had similar experiences to this with the main difference being that some of my characters were actually animated.

I saw everything organised systematically on a black background, all the characters were white and stood out clearly. I had about 13 seconds to get a good look at everything and the ones that stuck in memory were something that looked like a rotating daisy and a wheat plant. They seemed more like icons and very simple in structure.

I think they're Shamballa-related.
