Hmmm...

It's all very well to say Tibetan monks say this or say that, but I wonder, if any of us have the chance to actually talk to a Tibetan monk, what  would he really say about all this?

Seems to me it might be very easy to put words into the mouths of a community that are regarded as wise and spiritually knowledgeable, but who generally tend to remain pretty well isolated from the web and the kind of people who publish articles on it such as this one.

But taking into account what james said, the 2012 number might not have come from the monks mouths but from the person who wrote the article, suiting their own agenda.
