Hello I am a newbie to the board and a newbie of sorts to OBE's.  I need some help but first some background.

My first experiences with this was more of a sleep paralysis than anything.  I would feel myself slip into the "mode" which felt like a massive amount of energy going from my toes to head then all over.  I would then be terrified!  I would always feel someone was in the room (possibly aliens etc.).

After awhile I could bring this on by myself, which I would, even though I knew it was scaring me there was something that was still very interesting about it.

Finally I decided one night that I was going to make the fear go away so I just repeated something like "Jesus is my Savior" over and over and finally the horrible feelings went away.

So that brings me to now.  I can bring it one without fear but I'm not going anywhere.  I think the problem might be in how I am starting it though.  The easiest way for me to "bring it on" is with my breathing.  I will first slow down my breathing then when it has slowed down I will basically hold my breath at a inhale or exhale and then my eyes will start twitching and I get the tremors in my body.  The whole thing will last about 30 seconds or so but I can do it multiple times.

Each times it happens I'll see ALL sorts of things and places but they are moving by so fast that I can only catch little bits and pieces.

So being where I am (or am not) what should I start doing differently?  I am open to any and all suggestions.

Thanks in advance and I am so glad I found this board!!

Oh one more small thing.  Almost every night my wife wakes me up because I am sleeping with one or both arms straight up in the air.  She has said I have done this for hours at a time!!!

Anyone?  It really looked like this forum was very much alive.  I hope everyone hasn't left or gotten taken by aliens!

I was kinda letting someone more advanced than me go, but if no one else is going then:
When I go OB my body is paralyzed, my energy body feels 'loose' and most of the time I feel vibrations.  As many people have said, vibs are not necessary, but are a sure sign that you're on the way out.  Usually, the one sign I have to have to project is the 'loose' feeling.  If you have never felt it, it can be described as a 'floaty' feeling- like you're floating in/above your body.  One time I felt it as I had just laid down to sleep (before I ever tried it on purpose) and it felt like when you  have had too much to drink and everything is going around and around.  That night I spontaneously projected.
I don't even try to exit if I don't feel floaty.
Then I try an exit technique.  The reason for me is that if you try too prematurely and run out of 'steam' and go to sleep, it'll influence the way you feel about it and cause exit problems down the road.  Also, how many times have you tried?
ps. I've only phased once and not on purpose (the times I've actually deliberately tried I ended up having exit sensations and ended up 'popping' out.)  so I'm not the person to ask about it.
