2 dreams at the same time?

Last night I partially awoke (it was a strange trance state) and was aware of two seperate dream sequences going on at the same time. I can only remember a little bit of one, as this was very confusing. I fully-woke up after this in an awful sweat, something that hasn't happened since I was a teenager (it was not hot in the room, actually pretty chilly).

Maybe I was remembering 2 separate dreams at the same time in the process of waking up? It was very wierd.

Anyone else ever experienced this kind of thing?

maybe some mindsplit related symptom

As close as I can get was dreaming about laying down and having a dream.  Was it kinda like that?  Or was it 2 dreams with totally different subjects?

I (recently) half-woke up from a dream,
and with my eyes closed I saw a room,
100% realistic. Something like a giant stocking
place, pretty white (but dirty) ceiling, artificially
lighted, and I was lying somewhere in that room.
(so in that room, my relative sleeping position
was theoretically correct).
With my eyes opened, I saw my bedroom ceiling
but with light-emitting words written on it (=wtf),
but I couldn't really make any of them out, they were
in some kind of high-backed font, emitting yellow-ish
light.

I found this kind of eerie, so I was like "close your eyes
to get rid of the writing on the ceiling", but then I still saw
the realistic storage room, so I opened them again to get
rid of that, etc. Not sure what I did next (I think I hit the lights
or something) but after a couple of times it was gone.
Afterward I felt kind of sorry that I didn't 'use' this experience
to explore the "dream room" or something, because I got
freaked out...

I should probably mention I have light-emitting stuff on my ceiling,
like a star sky (from the previous tenant of this room), and the
words were in the spaces BETWEEN these stars (somehow)...

I recently mentioned I would make a post about this - so here it is ;).
Sorry for the crappy description :-D ...

It was 2 non-related dreams, plus me in bed. I wish I could remember more of the content. It might help explain what was going on. It was like my mind was aware of both situations but couldn't decide where to focus.

I had a strange dream the next night where I was in a car, riding passenger, going by a zoo. I could see all the animals running in line out to the entrance and leaving the zoo. 2 giraffes caught my attention because it surprised me how fast they were running. Then a rhino was running fast next to the car. We had to have been going at least 45-50 mph, and it rammed the back passenger door with it's horn. The End.

GeKKo - I've also had a similar experience during meditation, where I'm lying in bed facing the ceiling, and then suddenly I'm lying in a different bed in a whole different environment. I'm always abruptly shocked out of situations like that.

I have never experienced that.  The best I could offer up would be the mind split possibility as mentioned before.  Or a recording problem.

Hi Stookie

I don't know whether my experience was similar, but I had an occasion once where I was aware of three separate instances, all at the same time.

I was in bed at home dreaming.  I became lucid, so I knew these two facts.  In the dream, a woman was in a garage and I was trying to become the woman, thinking it would make me more lucid.  Then, I realised that my second/astral body was beginning to separate.

My focus for a few moments at first was on all three incidents - me in bed at home, me in the dream trying to reach the woman, me as a second body floating away from the physical.  Then my brain started processing this phenemenon and obviously couldn't cope with it, so my mind then flitted very quickly between all three, settling on the astral body.  I then had a typical RTZ OBE.

I think the consciousness is able to be in more than once place quite happily, but our brains find it hard to accept (because of our conditioning that it isn't possible) and so firstly, it happens rarely and secondly, if it does happen, it is all too brief to study.

We all find nonsenses to believe in; it's part of being alive.

It must be a mind-split effect. If a person can separate from their physical body and have two points of awareness, why not 3? Or 1000? (my brain would probably overload).

It's crazy what a person can figure out about their own minds through OBE's/AP/Dreams, etc. I've been learning so much recently through experience instead of my regular book-learning.

It is very possible that when you enter hypnagogic state that you remember your old dream or dream of last night that you couldn't remember that day...

This happened to me few times, but i never had a dream with both dreams being involved...
