I will project tonight!

Tonight I am going to try something I haven't done before but I feel is the sure way to project. I'll explain...

It has become a routine for me to wake up around 3:30 at night.  I get out of bed, go to the bathroom, let my dogs go outside for a tinkle, whatever gets me OUT OF BED.  After about 3-10 minutes out of bed, I lay back down and do a half-ashed effort at projecting.  I fall into what I perceive is a slight focus 10 after seconds!  Sometimes it is almost immediately after I hit the bed.  Sometimes it takes a few minutes.  But thing is, it is SO FAST and happens 90% of the time.  Here's the problem:  I fall asleep (or lose consciousness) before I can project.  I know in time I will make it to projection (I did it using this method once before).  But it has been months of waking up in the middle of the night and nothing.

Now, I read in another post the suggestion to wake up every 15 minutes or so and eventually it will spawn a projection.  Tonight I am going to set my alarm to wake me up about 3 hours after laying down.  When the alarm goes off, I will get up, walk to the hallway, reset my watch alarm to wake me up in 20-30 minutes, and go back to bed with intent to project.  I will do this until morning.  This will give me about 10 opportunities to project in one night.  I know I will make it to projection with this many attempts.

I will post again tomorrow to advise you all of the fabulous worlds I traveled in and the wonderful dead people I met, and the talks I had with people who are about to embark on their next Earth trip, and my visit with the Buddha, Jesus, and Ganghas Khan.

Please, wish me luck.

  I think your positive outlook may help you as much as any technique!  Go for it, good luck, and good experiences!

I've heard of many people having success with the frequent awakening technique.  I've never been able to bring myself to do it... I detest waking up in the middle of the night!  I need my beauty sleep too much!

If you try to hard, you are only taking steps back. Just relax, maintain a slight curiousity, and administer a light focus. If you are too excited/enthusiastic it'll actually be a step back from progess.

That is why a lot of people who are trying to OBE will give up because of litttle results, and then they become apathetic about the whole thing and suddenly have high rates of success.

Willis

Thanks for the Warped advise   .  I've tried not to worry about it much, but it seems to get even more distant for me.  It's time to get back into it a little bit since the "foget about it and you'll OBE" approach isn't working for me.  Focus, Focus, Focus.  I will project, I will project, I will project.

See?  Isn't that more inspiring!

Tonites the night I make history!

I would like to try this technique , but my parent would think im insane to make the clock alarm ring every 15 minutes...

CFTraveler

I do the same thing at 5am, (not the alarm thing) but instead of going back to bed I sit back on the recliner and make myself comfy in it.  I find that reclined works better for me.

Sepultura123

Anybody have success project himself in sitting position ?

Willis

No, I haven't cause I can't seem to get totally relaxed.

Just to add something. Waking up and going back to bed after a while has shown great results for me in the past. But a correlation I've noticed is that projection is a lot more likely when I have either a regular meditation practice or trance practice going on in my day-to-day life.

Willis

I definately agree.  Since I have backed off the projection thing a little to see if my results improved, I backed off meditation and trance practice as well.  Neither has moved my projection attempts forward, like I said before, I'm further away now.

One thing about waking up and going back to bed I realized last night.  I set my alarms about 20 minutes apart.  About 10 minutes into my focusing, I began to show signs of a different focus (late focus 3 or early focus 10?) and before I knew it, my alarm woke me out of it.

I'd suggest making sure your alarm is set at least at 45 minute intervals, so if you are making progess, and even make it to projection, your alarm won't kick in and send you back to the physical.

Peace,
Willis the Wonderer.

One other thing I want to say...

For anybody wanting to try this technique, I would recommend it.  However, I have some suggestions to make it easier.

First, you don't necessarily have to set the alarm every 15 minutes.  Set it once for around 3:30-4:00 am or about 5 hours after you go to bed.  This gives me just enough rest to not fall back to sleep so easily.  I find that if I try after like 3 or 4 hours of sleep, I'm too tired to stay focused enough.  If you find this happening over 4 or 5 attempts, increase your sleep about an hour before attempting.

ALL THE PRACTICE SUGGESTIONS ON THIS FORUM WILL BE INTENSIFIED AND SPED UP WAKING UP LIKE THIS.  It may take a few tries because its easy to fall back asleep, but if you don't, you'll find that what takes you 45minutes to accomplish during regular practice takes about 5 to 10 minutes at this time.  Sometimes for me it can start almost as soon as I hit the bed again (5-10 seconds, no lie!).

I have only projected once using this technique, so I don't think it is the golden answer everybodies looking for.  But if you think you are on the cusp of reaching the next stage, you'll probably get there doing this, and in 20% of the time.

GOOD LUCK....FEEDBACK ABOUT EFFORTS!  The feedback is very inspiring!

MisterJingo

If you currently have a life style which permits it, I have heard of fantastic results from a technique which sees you sleep for four hours, awake for four hours, sleep etc. Just keep to this cycle and see what happens.

WarpedReality

Willis,

You completely misunderstood my advice. I am not telling you to 'back off' projection and meditation for some arbritrary amount of time. In fact you should on a daily basis be doing at least basic energy work.

My advice is not to be so excited/enthusiastic during your projection attempts. Let the focus and hypnogonic images wash over your mind while you are attempting projection instead of constantly thinking "I can't wait to do this! Oh man tonight it's going to happen! I can feel it!! AM I ABOUT TO PROJECT!?!?!? OH MAN!!!!"

You have to relax, reach F10 with a mild curiosity (nothing more), and then climb the rope (or use whatever technique you use for exit).

Willis

I gotcha.  Thanks for the advise!

Warped, Have you projected willfully yet?

WarpedReality

Yes, but not for long. I find it difficult to stay projected for long periods of time (as do many people). Practice makes perfect.

Good luck on your projection, and let us know how it goes!

The Present Moment

Some nights I get into bed feeling like I'm climbing into a space capsule ready for launch.   It's good to have this enthusiasm and optimism, provided you can keep it under control once you start the AP attempt.

Sepultura123

space capsule look like a good method to project

Cereal-N-Milk

I think tonight is the night for me lol. I just had a feeling when i saw the sky this morning, it was grey and blank; it was pretty weird, and it was cold but not that that cold. and i just felt while i was at the bus stop that im gonna project tonight.

Sepultura123

Thats not because of dumb sign that you gonna project.

Tell me tommorow if you have projected. Surely not...
