Yes.   While this may not happen with everyone, to say that it's abnormal is absurd.  Unless, of course, the snapping noise came from your physical neck.  In that case, I would advise you to see a doctor straight away!

I think the cracking noise you described, and the "ripping" noise that other people report might actually be variations of the same thing; a side effect of the energy change. I believe that people perceive these sounds/effects differently, kind of like how some people see ghosts but others don't. Each individual "tunes into" these energies differently.
