I haven't seen it, but I thought it was mostly about right-on-the-money death experiences. Maybe the ads are miss leading...taaa!

The "ads" are misleading.  I saw the film this evening and I thought I wasn't going to enjoy it due to the impressions I got after having seen the previews.

Throughout the film I felt dissapointed because I thought it was going somewhere I didn't want it to go...BUT IN THE END, THE FILM TURNS OUT TO BE WONDERFUL!  On a 1 to 10 scale of "enjoyment", I would give it a 7... but on the 1 to 10 scale of importance and what it could mean for those who don't yet believe in "spirit" and "afterlife" I give it a resounding 10.

I won't give anything away, but I will say that it is a little bit overdone in a Hollywood sense, yet at the same time it keeps the audience on the edge of their seat.  The whole film comes down to what happens in the last scene...I'll just put it this way: the audience applauded.

Go check it out. (and if you haven't seen "A Beautiful Mind" or K-PAX, I recommend them...)  They may not be the greatest films of all time, but they are definetly food for thought...and I could argue that they are some of the best films released in the past few years...

Bloody America! you guys hog all the movie first screenings!
I had heard about all three of those movies about a year ago but
they still havn,t come out here in Australia! & they are handing
out awards to Russell Crowe & talking like its last years news.
Oh well, ..................we got Lord of the rings before you guys
& the Matrix!
Personally I,m a sucker for anything sciencefiction/metaphysical
& will see them, even though I know Australian film critics will
thumb their noses up at Dragonfly & K-pax,the snobs!

Mobius- hey, it's not just the Australian critics- here in America they don't get good reviews either.  I know K-Pax got ok reviews, even som poor ones, and although I haven't read the reviews for Draginfly, I would guess that they gave it mediocre to poor reviews (2 stars).

I usually agree with the critics (usually being the operative word) but for some reason when it comes to metaphysically related films I never see eye to eye with them.  I think they are looking for something completely different. . .and of course Dragonfly should be viewed as a symblic film and not be taken at face value.

Anyway, I stand by it. . .check it out when it is released over there!
See ya!

All, Hi!
Daniel do you know if Rupert Murdoch owns the studios/producers of
Dragonfly & K-Pax,if they are not owned by him, the papers will
say its over the top hollywood crap,if he owns the studios the
papers will herald its arrival & shower us with adverts in every
medium used.
I guess it all comes down to what each individual believes Quality is...................doesn,t it?

Best journeys you all
