Not sure if it was astral linked or not, but here it goes.

I was meditating for roughly 20 minutes, saying "aum" and consciously paying attention to my oxygen intake and outtake. The "screen" before my closed eyes are normally bright, pink. But then the "screen" turned dark, with different types of shapes coming and going there, and when I focused my concentration more into the darkened screen my eyes started to twitch, does anyone know what this is? The screen went bright about 10 seconds later again. This happens at least twice every mediatation session.

PS: I sometimes see peoples faces in this screen, faces I don't consciously think of.

That is probably hypnogogic imagery... Which is odd because if someone told me they saw pink instead of the darkness behind their eyelids, I would also say it's hypnogogic imagery...

There is a good description of hypnogogic imagery in "DO_OBE" -- it's a pdf file you can easily find by typing "do_obe.pdf" in google. Perhaps it will be of some use to you.

Yes. It sounds like hypnogogic imagery - which can be a good sign of progress. I'm guessing the pink is because Donal meditates in a light place, so the light through his eyelids? :)

i agree with mister jingo. the twiching of the eyes means that you enter REM state wich is indeed a very good sign for progress.

Last night, after the twitching of the eyes, I felt some vibration up my legs but they stopped after a bit at my legs. I then for the next 2 hours felt as if my body was hovering a couple of inches up and down (not my entire body though), but I never got those intense vibrations again and  I never left my body.

What is this?

Try meditating in the lotus position.  :meditate: Just becareful once you start to 'float', you might hit the ceiling

i do not think difference in position matters

WarpedReality

Yes a difference in position matters when you wish to achieve complete physical relaxation.

QuoteI then for the next 2 hours felt as if my body was hovering a couple of inches up and down (not my entire body though),

The parts of your body that were not hovering were most likely muscles that were not relaxed enough. Practice relaxing those tight spots until every muscle is asleep/relaxed so you can enter a deep focus 10. The floating feeling that accompanies a mind awake/body asleep is natural and I believe it occurs because your angular gyrus in the brain is affected by this level of relaxation.

Oh and from a deep focus 10, its only a matter of deep breathing to get the vibrations going.[/quote]
