AP Friends,

I work in a old factor which was built around 1861 in Grand Haven Michigan. The factory has gone through many updates, changes though
its time. Just last week Friday 3/31/2006 as I was locking up the office I heard a voice. I basically shrugged it off and went on with my affairs, but as I walked down the steps I heard another voice. Now, about this time I was starting to become a little nervous (since I was walking in darkness down a long winding steps).

Flash forward to 4/5/2006 I had asked my wife to wake me up at 1:45PM so I could start getting ready for work. At 1:45PM I hear my wife's voice "Get Up" or "Wake Up" and I immediately awakened. When I traveled to the bathroom I said to my wife "Thank You" for waking me. She looked at me puzzled and said " I didn't say anything " - I then replied back to her I must be hearing things again.

Anyways, from these three experiences I start to wonder that the more I project, is it possible to tune into the astral and hear the voices. Has anyone ever noticed this in their experiences?

Yes. A couple weeks ago I awoke to a male's voice saying "Hurry Up". It hasn't happened since but the clarity of the voice shocked me.

If my Psychology teacher knew about this, he'd damn think we were schizophrenic. Which is sad because anytime I try to bring something out of the box, which is hard to do with a hardcore psych teacher, he says "Hmm. I haven't heard of anything like that" and gives me this strange look. I've learned to keep my mouth shut. Sorry I got off track but I'm going to say I think so. That yes, the more "astral" experiences you undergo.. or rather - as you open yourself up more and more to those types of experiences - the more they present themselves to you - in this case ... the voices.

But then again... I'm sure there are people out there that hear a lot of voices in their heads whov'e never even thought of APing/OBE/whatever. I wonder why.

Yeah, I agree.  The more you get into it the more you will experience.  However everyone experiences different things in different ways.

As to the voices.  Just remember they are just voices.  I am slightly more interested in you hearing your wife's voice though.  Thing you should have asked her at the time was if she was thinking about waking you up.  I have had this happen a few times with a good friend of mine where I hear her ask a question and then end up calling her to talk about it.  She has also done the same thing to me.  It's kinda fun in a weird, freaky kinda way.

Yeah it looks like you are maybe becoming clairaudient. I heard my first one the other night when settling down to sleep on my own, a girl's voice close to my left ear just said 'hello!'. Really made me jump, I was suddenly wide awake. I've never had that before, I just wonder if it's to do with trying to have an OBE and all this stuff we do here, like these are positive signs of psychic development. She sounded nice though, so I'd like to hear from her again. Musn't tell the wife though I think as long as the voices aren't telling you to do stuff against your will, there's nothing to be worried about. You could maybe try asking for a helper to come and show you why this is happening. Maybe it is the helper ?

Hmm, I particularly don't see a relation there. I've been enjoying my astral lucidity ever since childhood and I don't remember ever hearing someone elses voice in my head while wide awake. Maybe you are starting to become schizophrenic? lol, just joking

Actually, a few years ago I was talking to this psychologist who was going out with a relative of my brother's, and we started talking about schizophrenia and other stuff, and since I have always heard astral noise (that is, voices in the hypnagogic state), I was dying to ask him about it.  So the conversation went something like this: (We were talking about schizophrenics that heard voices that told them to commit crimes, etc.)
" If I heard a voice that told me to kill someone, I would think I'm going nuts, and would probably call you.  I don't get how someone who hears voices feels compelled to obey them" or something like that.  So he kind of said that hearing voices didn't always mean you're schizophrenic, that it was not unusual to hear them in the hypnagogic state (he used a different term), and even if you heard a voice, say while taking a shower it could be an auditory hallucination due to some other condition that didn't necessarily mean schizophrenia (don't ask me what- he didn't say).  I was just relieved so didn't ask any more questions.  Now, this guy was a Clinical Psychologist, not a psychiatrist, and a Freudian-Schooled one.  So I don't know what difference this makes (if any).

Back in the day of college in my psychology class I explained to the class my obe's. The instructor was accepting and so were my class mates. We did spend some time talking about the para-normal and covered different topics. Unfortunately, there was a agenda to follow so we didn't dive too deep into it. I've also consulted with a old high school teacher about my obe's and he was into the paranormal and study. We had a nice chat and shared some experiences.

I definitely see a energy/mental link between my wife when I in the obe, false awakening, trance state or physical. Just in the last three months I've had validations with my wife. On two different occasions I was in the trance state and my wife walked into the room, looked down at me and crawled into bed, then 10 seconds later I awake to the physical and the scene repeats with my wife coming into the room.

Just last month, I was thinking of happiness, joy, love for my wife and she pops on IM to tell me she's thinking of me.  

The biggest validation is I was trying to validating playing cards in the astral in my home. The first projection I saw the card and the second was a false awakening - my wife pulled the card off the back of the door and handed it to me.

Now, the next part is interesting because I thought I had awakened in the physical. I could see my wife Katie and she said to me "Wow, that was fast for you to verify the card". So we both went over to the door, pulled the card off and this time it was 8 of hearts.

I think that's cool you are able to call your friend and talk about the question you or she was thinking.

I really don't hear voices much while I am in the trance state. Mostly, I am thinking of beauty, love, the vibes flowing thru me and carrying me off. Earlier in my experiences, not knowing what to expect "yes" I would hear voices as they were breathing in my ear...
