I would like to contact God. Not a prayer type thing, but a one on one type thing. I can't astrally project yet.

Alternatively, I would like to contact my higher self. I need some extreme spritual advice, and am very eager to get it.

Thanks.

I've read somewhere that your Higher Self is trying to talk to you a lot of the time. Try meditating so you can control your thoughts and find out which thoughts are your own and which are from your Higher Self and/or higher entities.

Hi Cole,

Starting with meditation is definitely your best bet.
To learn to communicate with your higher self, you need to learn to close yourself off from the outside world for a while and go within.

Also consider that your higher self is in contact with you at all times, and its just a matter of learning to recognise it. Mostly this happens through "out of the blue" thoughts or images that come to mind, and feelings, especially "gut" feelings, a.k.a your intuition.

Although our higher selves can and do communicate with us through words, our verbal language is actually a very inefficient means of conveying information, especially where it concerns the deeper inner thoughts & feelings. Much more information can be conveyed through feelings than words.

Anyway, just being consciously aware that your higher self is always present, and always passing information to you will help you a great deal.

Blessings,
James.

Hey James!  I believe that I've been hearing my higher self for some time now but I still have those moments of not trusting what I'm hearing even though many times I would get proof that I was correct.  Have you dealt with not trusting yourself?  if you did, how did you over come it?   Once I start not trusting myself and what I'm getting, it makes it even worse.

Eh, maybe I shouldn't have bothered to ask..lol. because now I feel that I've said it outloud, acknowledge it if you will, it will get better..   How weird is that?

Hugs,
Nay

Hi Nay,

Oh, yes!
In learning to be a medium I've had to learn to deal with self doubt, but it's a big thing to overcome, and that doubt still gets in the way a lot. Even the best mediums I've met still struggle with self doubt from time to time. We all do. Only children don't, because they haven't had years of society's lecturings on what is real and what isn't.

We've all been taught that in order for something to be real we need to be provided tangeable evidence, which is actually far from the truth.

Funny thing is, it'a all kinda circular. The more you embrace your connection with your higher self, the more you cease to doubt yourself.

Part of learning to trust what you're getting is to learn to become aware of the source of the messages. You can feel if a message is coming from ego. It has that element of smug self serving satisfaction about it, and it definitely doesn't come from a place of love. Anything else, you can be shure is the real deal.

We actually channel thoughts and inspiration from our higher selves all the time, but we've been taught to think of it as "our imagination". Mind you, even if it is our imagination, it's no less valid. After all, our physical self is a part of our higher self.

Blessings,
James.

Priceless advice ... a lot of what you've said holds up and rings true through some recent major (and personal) upheavals in my life - however, I can't help but to mention that the ego serves a purpose as well.
A certain degree of neurosis is of inestimable value as a drive, especially to a psychologist - Sigmund Freud

Yeah, I understand about the ego and things ring true for me in my personal life.   I have several things to work on, that's for sure.

Thanks James.

You're welcome Nay.

Mactombs,
You're absolutely right about ego having its place. It's part of who and what we are. Without it we'd lose all sense of self.
It's one of those wonderful dichotomies we need to live with.

Blessings,
James.
