Dead for a moment. Woke up terrified.

Ok, something extremely unusual occured to me and my roommate today.

As I recall, I fell asleep quite nicely, feeling my body go numb and just drifted off into a peaceful sleep. This was approximately 12:30AM.

Next thing I know, i'm suddenly awakened at approx 2:30AM and i'm somewhere extremely dark and feeling like I am DEAD. I start tripping out and soon regain conciousness and see my room. Take note that the feeling experienced during this was not just darkness, it felt like DEATH (not that I know how it feels for sure), and I didn't think I was ever coming back... I was so shocked and disoriented that I could not explain to my friend what just happened for a couple minutes, I just couldnt comprehend and put it into words!  

Now, that is not the scariest part... my friend, at that exact moment wakes up and experienced the same thing, feeling dead, and he said that he felt\saw dark beings all around him. We woke up COLD, shaking, and extremely frightened.

Not only this, but we also felt a presence in the room, and we both were just waiting for some spirit\entity's face to pop out somewhere. I asked God to help drive the being away, I also meditated intensely (I mean, with my FULL HEART, really meaning it) visualizing [sadly though, I cant really 'see' things, just flashes\impressions] bright white and gold light fill and coat my room.

Then shortly after I did this it felt "quiet". How to describe this I dont know, because there was no noise originally really, and it just felt like it was GONE and it felt more quiet, we BOTH felt this and we BOTH started to magically get calm again.

Our guesses:

a) My friend's Mom is into spiritual things (and Krishna" stuff) and my first guess was that this was her, trying to get in touch with him (seeing as its 2 days after mothers day and she doesn't have a phone so they didn't contact eachother). Possible?

a2) And possibly his mother took us both out of body to communicate, and we ended up on too low of a vibration? Take note, this has NEVER happened before.

b) Another idea that my friend had is that his aunt was putting a curse on us (Because apparently she does such things), but this just seems unlikely to me seeing as he hasn't contacted or interacted with her for well over a year.

I was personally shaking for at least half an hour, uncontrollably, WHILE WARM under a blanket, unable to stop. I have practiced meditation for years (although not daily or constantly) and have had AP experiences once or twice before briefly, none feeling like this.


Any ideas on what the heck just happened to us??
Any advice on what I could do to prevent such a thing in the future?


If anyone has the time, even a quick thought of us [for protection] during one your meditation sessions would be very appreciated.

Hey,
Just out of curiosity, what had you been upto the evening prior to this experience? Where you hanging out with your roommate? If so, what did you do/talk about?

It is actually 4:25AM right now, havent been able to get ourselves to sleep... too freaky.

I actually came home from my other friend's house (where I was most of the day helping his Dad), and I got home, talked to my friend about cool things tha happened at work today (from him) and we went to bed.

I wake up every night maybe 2 or 3 times (to urinate, usually at end of sleep cycles), but NEVER has this or anything like this occured. Sleep paralysis yes (I find it cozy sometimes)... something like this though, never.

well i had somthing like this happened that spooked me quite a bit

i went to sleep and was dreaming about being in this apartment i don't know if i had been there before or not (i'm leaning towards not)
there's this little boy sitting on the couch reading outloud
it seemed to me like he was my son (i don't have a son)
there was a mostly empty glass of milk on an end table(1/4 full)
i pick the glass up and ruffle the boys hair (like, ada boy!)
upon standing up i have a dizzy spell and collapse to my knees spilling the glass (i've had dizzy spells like this before)
i hear a woman scream "oh my god are you okay!"
and look over to see her legs as she approaches. i don't see her face because shes standing over me like the person who drapes james brown in a cape after his show while he's on his knees
i say "yeah just gotta get my bearings...."
i collapse again right on my face and everything goes black and i have the distinct feeling like i'm floating but everything is black
i still had spatial awareness because as i'm floating i'm looking up and down and all around thinking "well i guess i'm dead,but where's the white light.
it seems like alot of time is passing because i had time to think about what good i've done as opposed to what harm i've done
i eventually conclude that the god must have been as strict as the catholics say he was (i'm not really a religious person)
and i must be going to hell for taking his name in vein one to many times
(i really haven't done anything that bad,maybe lied to get out of trouble or stolen candy as a kid)
i'm sure that i'm going to hell
i begin to panic but calm down when i realise thers nothing i can do at this point
but no fire and brimstone (i should mention that the whole time this is happening i did assume that it was a dream but got panicy when i tried forcing my eyes open to wake up and could not)
nothing was happening and i began to worry that this was the after life eternal blackness left alone to your own inner monolouge
after a while of trying to force my eyes open (ide like to say it was an eternity having so much time to think but it was just a really long time)
i did open my eyes jolting up and gasping like i had been underwater
i was shaking and breathing heavily and hope i never experience that again although i fear i might because i fear i was wittnessing my own death due to the fact i've had prophetic dreams in the past
so who knows i don't this helps you but its kind of a load of my chest

hiyoshi, the original poster did kinda have a question, probably would have been better if you posted a new thread for your query.

Anyway, Divine, i have to say this is definately an interesting albeit frightening experiance you both encountered, i have had something quite similar to this. Me and a few friends were asleep, when all of a sudden me and one of my friends literally felt like we were pushed off our beds, at exactly the same time we both fell to the floor.

This scared the hell out of us, although my experience is different as to be honest we had been experimenting with hallucinogenics before hand.

I do actually like it when i and another go through a common experiance like this, i find it helps me feel slightly closer to that person, as you both went through the exact same thing, although if his mother is experianced in and regularly performs AP, it may have been her presence, making you both feel odd and uncomfortable, inducing the experiance you described. im not sure, but its definately a very interesting experiance.

-E- Thank you for your reply It is indeed fascinating when two people experience a "paranormal" event at the same time. And you know, even thought it was scary that night, after a while (more and more as time passed) I started seeing it as something wonderful we both experienced, even if it was a negative entity, I am still amazed that I was in a different world, and felt ALIVE in that world (I think this is what freaked me out the most, that I awas actually ALIVE somewhere, just not where i'm so used to being alive )

Weren't using any hallucinogens this time around tho

That is pretty crazy though actually FALLING to the floor at the same time

and I apologize i just thought i could help put someones mind at ease by sharing what i thought to be a similair experience but next time i'll be sure to let experts like yourself field these types of questions

Actually, while i'm typing I might as well mention that last night I had another Astral experience... I was going through the 'tunnel' or whatever (all dark) and all of a sudden got conscious and started pulling out [and couldnt ]... but then I thought "Wait a minute, let it flow", so I did and I think I made it over for a sec cause I felt an entity's presence and got scared. Then, I quickly changed my mind and 'flew' towards it, at which point it went "boooo!" or something similar and scared me back into body

Should also mention that during the whole ordeal I do not believe I had vision... at least, everything was black black black.

I only have one, and it's lame: That one or both of you AP'd and had the experience of feedback-fear and at the same time both were sharing the experience psychically. (My husband and I share dreams ocassionally- it's something that has happened)- since your friend is the one that saw the entities it sounds like he/she had the projection, and you tapped into the fear part of it.
As for Hiyoshi: Two possibilities popped in my head for your experience:  You AP'd directly into someone else that was having a heart attack (I believe Fliesatnite has had experiences of a similar nature)- in real time, so it doesn't have to involve your future, or, you tapped into another timeline/dimension of your own, in which you die, and at that moment you merged with that other aspect of you and received information.  Those are the things that popped into my head.  
Anyway, wow!

I don't think it is coincidence.. I believe that coincidences doesn't exist.. So DiViNE that experience you had happend with some reason.. Maybe just to interest you and your roomate more for the "other side" or paranormal or whatever you wanna call it...

If you encounter a situation like this again you can try using a conjuration. By conjuration I don't mean the invocation of an entity, just words that are said in which can have power over evil.

Someone, whoever it is, has conveniently posted two of them within this forum. In the past, I've used them both with success.

Divine, a few weeks ago i had an experiance that was very very similar to the one you just described. I was trying to AP, lying there getting more and more relaxed, when i felt myself floating out, suddenly a a pretty 'F-ed' up image flashed in front of me accompanied by a loud pretty horrible scream. Scared me straight back in.

And hiyoshi, theres no need for sarcasm, i just felt that the thread started may have thought u were 'stealing his thread'
