I have tried to search the forum to find out exactly what vibrations are. Sometimes when I am laying in my bed trying to OBE a party of my body will start to shake very badly, and I end up stopping it. Usually my head is what shakes back and forth quite fast.

I am not sure if vibrations are mental or something your physical body actually does.
I know dreams are important. I always wonder how I can use them to help myself.

Hey ParanoidAndroid,

Do you mean your head will physically shake?

I'm probably not the best person to answer this, but I am sure others will follow up on your post as well.
My understanding of vibrations is when the spirit is preparing to separate from the body. The vibes can vary in degree and intensity from person to person, so one person's experience may differ greatly from another's. Each person's journey is truly a unique one.
I tend to feel a more electric type buzzing that flows through my body which is often accompanied by not so intense tremblings inside (can't really explain it better than this...the small vibes in me are "deep inside" my body, don't even know if my muscles are the things vibrating or what it is). Once I woke up after an incredible experience to the feeling that my whole body was rocking side to side as if on a hammock.
Good luck and much peace in your Journeys!

Hi,

Robert Bruce teachings agree with what I was taught. Here's a quote from "Treatise on Astral Projection, Part 5" by Robert Bruce

Quote from: Robert BruceThe vibrations are an effect and NOT a cause of projection. When enough pressure is exerted on the astral body to loosen it sufficiently, the energy body expands and energy flows through the chakra system to be stored in the energy body. This flow of energy through the hundreds of chakras and their connecting web, or meridians, CAUSES these vibrations. This normally happens, unnoticed, during sleep.

I've found there are a lot of parameters such as how tightly bound your astral is to the physical. If it's tightly bound then it will take a great deal of energy to break it free. This energy is flow of chakra energy, which is usually sensed as vibrations. In this case the vibrations will be intense. I've felt the vibrations so strong that it literally felt like my entire physical body was shaking, mostly my head. Although this is not the physical body shaking. As people become more adept at projecting then the bond between astral and physical bodies is loosened. Also, a lot of people are just born with a loser fit. In this case, it will not take much energy to project. So the person may not even feel any vibrations.

When you meditate you'll probably eventually learn that there's something that expands away from your material body. You'll learn to willfully expand this energy body. When this happens it will feel like someone's sticking you with tiny pins. This is just your higher bodies expanding. When they appreciably expand then you should begin to notice your body becoming numb. The more it expands the more numb you feel.

Lowering your heart rate can significantly lower the amount of energy required to release the astral and partial Etheric. Energizing the 3rd eye chakra greatly increases your energy flow, which when really energized will usually last for hours.

People raising their kundalini may often feel vibrations.

As everyone says to protect against law suites, Please make sure you consult your doctor before doing anything.

Of course, if you just want to have a good old lucid dream (not really leaving your body) then you can ignore all the above. ;-)

This is all just the tip of the iceberg.

Well, I have had some odd sensations which I am not sure are the vibrations or not.

They are completely localized to my hands, and feel like some sort of pulsating-throb, accompanied by a tingling like pins and needles- sort of like when an apendage is going numb (but my hands are not going numb). I do not think my hands actually pulsate, but that is what the apparent nerve activity suggests to me.

Are these the vibrations, and if so, why might they be centralized as such?

Hi Stillwater,

To sound clichéd, you will know when you feel 'The Vibrations'. It's the closest feeling I can imagine to being electrocuted while remaining unharmed. There's not necessarily pain, its just the feeling of tremendous energy passing through you – but on occasion it can feel uncomfortable to the point of being painful.
I'm very interested in 'The Vibrations' and a very similar phenomenon brought about by low dose DMT experiences. Many people describe what to me, sounds exactly like the vibrations. Higher dose DMT experiences actually sound very similar to OBEs too – so it's an area I would love to see researched more.
Perhaps when time and circumstance allow, it might be something I'll research on a personal level.

Edit: Just to add, I've never felt 'the vibrations' in a localised way. They are usually all or nothing. I have experienced localised vibrations though - these usually have the feel of sensory distortion i.e. when meditating, one reaches a state where the body representation becomes less cohesive, so distortions occur - or even hyper awareness of natural body function. Such as feeling blood flow through the hand, but because of the sensory deprived state, it feels pretty powerful.
