How do I make the vibrations grow?

Hi everyone, I hope you're all well.

I've had a few OBE's in recent months. They always start when I am awoken with strong vibrations.

Everynight, before I go to bed, I do energy work, activate my chakras and before getting to try my projection techniques, I fall asleep!

Last night I awoke with very subtle vibrations in my arms. I wanted to make them grow so that I could project, but I seemed to think about this too hard, and the vibrations subsided.

I was quite dissapointed by this, as it has happened a few times recently.

Are there any techniques that I could use to increase my vibrations at this stage and then conciously project?

Many thanks for your help.

Regards

Matt
I woke the same as any other day except a voice was in my head...

Hi leswan,

Have you ever experienced all body vibrations? I ask because when I have localised vibrations, they usually feel very different to the all body ones I get (which feel like getting executed). The localised ones I usually get are not 'projection vibrations', more the sensation of energetic movement. Yours might be very different, but knowing what kind of vibrations they are will help answer your question :).

Hi MisterJingo,

Thanks for the response.

Yes, at the beginning of all my projections to date, I have experienced full body vibrations, which to me felt like a huge juddering in my head, a racing heart and a massive amount of vibrations throughout my body.

Perhaps you're right, and my recent localised vibrations are simply energetic movement resulting from my earlier energy work.

Personally, I can't get localised vibrations to grow, but that doesn't mean you won't be able to :). To intensify the full body vibrations I usually just take deep breaths and do nothing. Trying to increase them through will, normally sees them diminish. So perhaps try being passive, focussing on the breath? Or, if that doesn't work, try focusing in a relaxed manner on the area of vibrations to the exclusion of all else - treat it like the object of a meditation. See if you can take the sensation to another part of your body etc.

One trick that has worked for me was to move my eyes upward, as if trying to see my eyebrows. Eyes closed.

Techniques like this are used in hypnosis :). Perhaps irrelevant to this discussion, but it immediaely brought this to mind.

Hi MisterJingo, yup, I read it a long time ago in Robert's Treatise of OOBE. It was very effective when I had the vibrations. Now I rarely feel them, if I feel at all, my exits have become much more smooth.

Looking upward is only part of the trick. The full drill also entails the act of pushing yourself upwards through the center of your head. To spread and even local vibrations sometimes it's a good idea to picture yourself in a miniature tornado that swirls around your body.

In my case vibrations are rarely felt anymore. Now even sounds are gone and since I cannot visualize well and am not a hypnagog person per se lately I have problems even with recognizing the projection state. I will probably use suggestions again, as in my first years, except you folks have a better idea.

Thanks everyone, I'll try the 'looking upward' technique.

Coincidentally, on Saturday I had been at a family wedding, had a few beers (which affects me because I don't drink very often) and after I had got home and gone to bed, I awoke and simply 'fell' out of my body!!

I had no astral vision and was still drunk. Because I didn't feel in control and couldn't see I felt vulnerable and pinged back to body.

Funnily enough, that was the first time I have ever dropped downwards... I usually float up.

Take care
