Hi how can i make my astral projections last longer they are v short at the moment.  is it to do with raising energy?
also will doing energy raising exercises like NEW give me more physical energy or is it a spiritual energy they give you?
thanks from

Yes, raising energy will help.  (While out of body, visualise yourself breathing and you can "breathe" energy into you).  At least that's worked for me.
Also, try to immerse yourself in the experience and don't think about your body.

I don't know about NEW. Never done it.

although i find it hard sometimes to imagine myself breathing without thinking of my body

Hi 007

One thing I've found that works for me is touching things while astral.  I find the actual tactile sensation can keep me in the environment for longer periods.  If there's something to actually hold onto (such as someone else's hand or a piece of furniture), this can stop me fading away and back to the physical.

I tried the breathing and it forced me back!  :-D

I think belief plays a big part - so if you believe that NEW will keep you out longer, the chances are it will.  Because the tactile sensation worked for me the first time, I believed it would work again and again - and it has done.  However, it might not work for someone else.

And I definitely agree with RenaissanceMan that thinking about your physical body is a bad idea.

We all find nonsenses to believe in; it's part of being alive.

Hi 007,

What I find works best every time is to get away from the direct location of my physical body.
Go out the room in another room, or downstairs. Or out the window. (Pushing through glass
feels like pushing through cling film, and can often seem to stretch right outside until
I've "broken" through it).

I just go for the nearest exit out of the house I'm in, as any interactions with any people
or entities in the house usually ends up negative, which usually leads to coming back to the body.

I would like to add that taking a moment to get my senses working in the astral, seems to help me. Touch, hear, smell, see. Also remaining calm is very important. Intense emotions can end an astral experience very quickly. Be clear on what you want to do in the astral, and stay focused on that goal. A wandering mind can pull you into a dream. Also, thinking about your physical body can make you return to it.

Relax and have fun in the astral ;)

lol badcookie...

For me, constantly being aware of your surroundings.  Continuous calm focus on yourself interacting with wherever you go.  You can practice this everyday physically...keep your mindset only on objects around you by noticing where they are in relation to yourself/how far they are/appearance/yada yada... meditation in general :)

I agree with a lot of the above. It seems while in the astral, we still have varying degrees of body awareness. As long as the information coming from the astral experience is stronger than that from the physical body, the astral experience lasts longer.
By information I mean stimulus. I too find tactile stimuli helps ground myself into the astral.
