Looking into a Mirror

Robert Bruce has done it. He said that mirrors and reflective surfaces cause the projector to leave the real-time zone by causing reality fluctuations. He created a method he calls virtual reality projection. A mirror is used to reflect an image and by keeping your mind still and going into the mirror the projector goes to a place identical to the image. It is no longer two dimensional, but a complete space with room to move around. Posters are supposed to work, also, so why the mirror is needed I do not know. Maybe the reality fluctuations caused by the shiny surface help.

i remember reading something that said the mirrors were used to give the picture a three d effect.

Thought I'd reply to this - a little alarm bell rang when I read through the above.  I once read some pretty disturbing stuff about the possible effects of using mirrors (i think it was in relation to psychometry).

Tom, I'd be interested to see what R Bruce wrote on the subject of mirrors - is it in one of his books or maybe an online resource?

I am fairly certain that it is in the treatise on OBE offeredin the downloads section off of the main web site. It might be in pdf in the downloads section off of the forums, too. It was interesting reading, but it will be more so after I learn to project and have a way of trying it.

Once I looked into a mirror and I saw myself. I looked the same but geometrically shaped areas of me would disappear and then appear again. Then, when I walked away from the mirror, I was all of a sudden over a thousand miles away in a house I used to live in.

i found a mirror was a common trigger for me to go lucid and then project.  I would be looking in the mirror wondering when i bought the brightly coloured oversize hawaiian shirt with matching shorts and bleached my hair such a funny white colour and i would suddenly realize that i didnt and that i was dreaming.  when i actually projected in rtz and looked in mirror i found it was not much different to the reality projected around me except that my face would be distorted or blurry.  The eyes would always be different too, as if my eyes had no iris (or whatever the coloured bit is) and were pointing outwards.  this would lead to me wondering why i could still see ok and the deep philosophy that ensued beamed back to my body in a flash.  thats the problem with trying to analyze and think during OBE.

i've never looked into a mirror while projecting but i've done it in a lucid dream. i looked pretty much the same except that my eyes sparkled. it was pretty cool.

personally i think if you were projecting in real time and you looked in a mirror you would probably see yourself. because what you'd be seeing is an astral copy of a physical mirror. astral mirrors should reflect astral entities, i would think. then again, your subconscious would likely create an image even if there wasn't one. the subconscious isn't exactly used to looking in a mirror and not seeing yourself...

interesting question though. i'll let you know if i ever have a fully conscious real-time obe.

On my first OBE I looked in a mirror.  I saw a something much like a shadow with no legs.  Looked like a ghost would in a cartoon but black.  Maybe it was just how my mind interpretted it to show me I am a ghost.

Once I had a lucid dream that I was projecting, I was in a room with other people, anyway I stood up from a chair and walked into another room for some reason where there was a mirror, when I looked into it it was really strange and I got a weird sensation, its was a sort of sensation you get when you're drunk and your head is spinning, also the image was distorted sort of like those mirrors you get at theme parks where the mirrors are concaved or something in order to make you look strange.
Was pretty cool.

Has anyone tried looking into a mirror when they are projecting(realtime)?? Is it freaky to look and see noone there?? I would tryy this but im not that fluent at projecting.
