Seeing Auras - Not the real deal?

I've looked up website, about how to see and auras, and what aura color each color gives off. And there is one thing flawed - the aura colors are the inverse color of the object you look at.

So I mean, is seeing auras all about just noticing the image burn you recieve from staring at an object for a long time?

If I stare at a red circle, after a minute or so, I will start to see a cyan halo around the circle. Supposidly the websites claim this is the aura. If I shift my eyes, I still see the cyan color, but this time I see the entire circle because I am no longer looking at the red circle anymore. Same goes with looking at a cyan circle. I will see a red halo, then shifting my eyes I will see an entire red circle.

Someone explain to me how this is an aura, because as far as I am concerned, this is just image burn - I don't know the exact process of how it occurs, but it has something to do with the brain balancing and it still seeing the inverse color after starting at a color for a long time.

I'm not so sure about auras either. They do seem to be some kind of afterimage after you stare too long. On the other hand, I think there may be something to "etheric" auras, ie. the thin blue layer. I see a blue layer (immediately, like I don't have to stare for even half a second) around most things which became intriguing when I noticed others reporting similar experiences. Hmm, there was one time I saw an electric blue "aura" around my arm, but never seen it since. So I guess I doubt that experience.

I've seen the website you are referencing. I guess it all depends on how you define 'aura'. What you are describing are the opposite colors to each other (look at red and you see bright green around it, look at blue and you see yellow around it). This is different than retinal burn though. With retinal burn, when you look away, you see the after image follow your vision. I do not see the image of the opposite colors when I do this and shift my view. However, I think that if this is called "auric sight", then it is a very basic level. These colors I can see quite easily, but I have never seen a whole human aura.

Occasionally I will see partial auras around people's heads. And they look nothing like the opposite colors I described above, which makes me wonder if these opposite colors are considered auras or not. When I do see auras around people, they appear to me like different size clouds or bubbles around the head and shoulders. They are not right up against the body and outlining the body, like you see when seeing the opposite color of an object.

Basically, I can't answer your question, but I do agree that it is questionable.
Reality is what you perceive it to be.

I am no expert at seeing auras, but I have seen a few things to believe in this phenomenon.  My first aura was when I was relaxed and gazing at a bunch of trees in the distance...when all of a sudeen I saw this bright blueish layer surrounding the sillouette of the trees while contrasting greatly with the sky.  Another time I was listening to a friend of mine tell this drawn out story so outta tiredness i just kinda gazed and stopped listening when i noticed this orange around her head.  This has happened a few times with people..

The color inverse thing is a method used to practice the mental focus.  Its not just burning the eye cones.. you must keep a certian focus.  For me, It generally begins with a bright white light surrounding the object and grows outward.  I suggest trying in your room with the lights dim, lay on your bed, hold your hand up and gaze at your hand against the ceiling. :)

Unfortunately my experiences have yet to completely validate this possibility...practice!

I know the website.

You should read more carefully. I will quote it for you:

"Rather than the true Aura, this exercise demonstrates the principle of how to look to see human Auras by making you aware of certain specific capabilities of your eyesight and your perception."

Looking at the circles just trains your eyes. They never claim that you just saw an aura.

For everyone who wans to give it a shot:

Well I can validate it for you then. It works 100% of the time  :-). Keep it up! After some time you will notice this without any effort.. its just there around everything.

Ah ok, I guess I was confused because somewhere they said

"yellow gives off a blue aura"
"blue gives off a yellow aura"
"green gives off an orange aura"
"orange gives off a green aura"
and etc..

So I thought they were serious there. You are right, I did not read the entire thing :-P
