Hi, I am currently working on a documentary about NDEs, out-of-body experiences and lucid dreaming.

This may sound a bit odd, but I was wanting to volunteer to have a team of medical professionals stop my heart for two minutes and then bring me back to life, as part of the documentary. I would then see if I passed some tests and talk about my experiences while being brain dead for two minutes. I think it would be riviting televsion.

Do you think there is a way to actually do this or are there so many laws that would prohibit this from happening. Looking forward to your reply.

Hello and welcome.

In my opinion, from my experience working in the medical field, it's highly unlikely that doctors would want to perform this kind of procedure on anyone, at least here in the US...probably the same way in Canada and Europe.

The hippocratic oath, which all doctors much take before starting to practice medicine, states "harm none."  Add that to the possibility of malpractice suit, the immense cost in doing such a thing (which is not covered by insurance for certain), and the fact that most doctors are overwhelmed with sick patients that they need to heal to begin with, it is unlikely that any doctor would like to go through with such an experiment. Even though you have a fascinating and valuable subject to research, doctors will most likely not consider performing such experiments because of the reasons listed above, and the fact that scientists in general don't believe in the unexplained, and/or don't care too much about the topic.

Perhaps you may want to interview some people who have already had one, and then re-construct the scene based on their experience? Either that or try presenting your idea to a research hospital in another, more spiritual country like India?

Best,
