Simple question about astral/oobe teleporation from a newbie

I've never done this, most travel I've done it downstairs in my APT the door, around my pool there and then right outside of the APT entrance on the street.....just walked (maybe floated, I don't remember "stepping" come to think of it) also don't recall if I opened doors or went through them...wierd, you would think you would be aware of those things....

anyways I've only had about 5 experiences and I want to visit my GF on my next one....I know what the place looks like that she is staying at (her parents right now for the holdays, I've been there about 3 times)

anyways I want to teleport there by thinking it....I need advice....do I just think about her and being close to her and A.) close my eyes and open them, or B.) leave them open?

Any other advice for my first attempt at this, or is it just pathetically easy to do for a newbie too?

I find it fairly easy to do with 1 caveat: you can remain focused on only one thought.  Once out of your body, imagine your girlfriend -- not where she is staying in the physical. Picture her face and imagine her 'feel'. After what feels like a few seconds of doing this, I usually perceive the surroundings drop slightly from around me and begin whisking passed me. For some reason, I always feel myself as stationery and not moving. Your eyes can remain open or closed during this. If they stay open, do NOT pay any attention to the surroundings flying passed you. This will cause you to lose the connection with her and you will drop wherever it is that caught your attention -- this is the 'tricky part.' After what feels like about half a minute, the surroundings will slow down and you will find yourself somewhere else. Look around and she should be near you.
