important question, please help

Hello,  I am very interested in astral projection, and have just bought a CD that apparently should help me achieve projection.  its a self hypnosis CD.

But that is not why i am here.

I want to know say for example, you think of a person  while your in astral... say somebody you have never met, but have seen a picture, could you go to that person by thinking of them?  IF you have never met?

I have heard storys of people who will think of a friend (they have met), and they will go to the place where that friend is.

I just want to know is this possible with people you have never met???

For example, a little british girl, kidnapped in portugal like a month or so ago.  If in astral you thought of her picture and face and her name, could you actually go to her and find out where she is???

Any opinions or advise would be appriciated, i intend on becoming a full time member of this forum.

possible it is, the issue is the objectivity of the experience, it's how much of what you see that corresponds with the reality. It can vary greatly, so it's hard to tell how reliable the informations received really are.

Regarding the case of the kidnapped child, I'd say it's best not to look for her by appearance, because they might have cut/dyed her hair and she might be wearing glasses so that people won't recognize her. Instead, try to become her and see through her eyes. There is a sticky topic about her case under Astral Chat.

In your experience, is astral plane all in the imagination? or is there really another dimension out there???

It is a different dimension, but it overlaps with ours. Some people can REALLY get it to "overlap" with "our" dimension.

it all depends how good you are at astral projecting, and it also depends on your belief system. Many religions or beliefs state that there are multiple astral realms with different deities to speak to. Another belief in circulation is that the astral plane is a double of our dimension, right above the etheric plane. I am not an expert on New Age/ Hindu philosophy, but I believe that's about right.

I have definitely heard of stories where people interact with people in our dimension from the astral. You either have to be gifted or (which is more likely) you have to be very experienced and know what you're doing. I have read of a VERY talented astral projector that hosted several workshops that moved a box while astral projecting for an audience...as if a ghost was moving it or somebody with telekinesis.

A book I read once stated that you need to desire a destination strong enough in order to arrive at the desired location. Somebody was able to check on somebody or something via the astral plane. I suppose if you're very experienced, you can visit your loved ones (just don't try and frighten them!).

There are theories that many ghosts we see are not ghosts at all (not that I'm saying I don't believe in ghosts), but people seeing somebody astral projecting. It would make a lot of sense since so many report seeing ghosts in dead hours of the night...the time when most people are experiencing REM and can leave the body naturally.

In my experience it's both, because at the same time that I feel like going outside of my body I feel like getting into my mind. Now if you ask if I believe that it's all a creation of my brain I'd say no, I'm totally convinced that the mind can operate without the body.

I see, it seems a very complicated subject, right now i am kinda scared of trying to project, i dont know what to expect really.

It would be great to make some new friends on here, get talking on msn, maybe i can get help, and learn, aswell as meeting like minded people who want to learn .

As for that box moved for an audience, it wud have been ace to see a video of that, i am a semi-profesional sleight of hand magician, so when i hear stories like that, i know how easy it would be to fool people, but i am sure there are genuine cases. 

Would be stupid to dismiss everything, every theory , every possibility because of lack of evidence.

Things like astral projection have been talked about and known to man for thousands of years in parts of the world, so theres gotta be something to it.
