If all of us could go out of body at will and explore the astral planes and speak with people who have died, then several things would have to change. Religions, science, society, banking, and just about everything else. Whether the changes would be for better or worse, though, I can't guess.

I think everybody has the potential to learn how to have an OBE, but i think it takes a certain level of determination and practice. Also, there are so many techniques, maybe each person would need to find one best suited to them.

It's great having this board because although i have some great friends, this is not something that i can easily discuss with them. I have spoken to them about it, but they're either not interested or have had no expereince themselves. In fact, i have never met anybody else who has had a conscious OBE. One of my friends recommended i visit a doctor! I said no.

I also have an urge to talk with friends about the subject.  They lack interest!  Why is this?  It is the most incredible thing!  They are more concerned with things like gossip and material luxuries!

    If I rephrase that sentence then perhaps I can emphasize the importance of deliberately inducing and controlling the out of body experience.
    As soon as a great many of us go out of body at will then organized religions, national governmnets and social norms Will quickly change.
    Right now the out of body phenomena and the people who experience it are at the very fringes of mainstream society. With an increase in power and speed of communication (internet, cable tv, etc) the concept and practice of astral/ethereal projection has the potential to grow by leaps and bounds. It could surpass mathematical growth (example 1, 2, 3, etc). It could be greater than geometric growth (example 2, 4, 8, 16, etc). It could, in fact, grow at an exponential rate (example 10, 100, 1000). Think about it for a short while and you will see that the possibilities are nearly limitless.
   Note - that is why I take every opportunity to connect information from one source to another. (Example I listed a post from another website about a person who is looking to (radio) interview someone who has had an out of body experience.)

KP, I know that feeling. I think most people think nothing non-material is real, so why bother with something that isn't real, right? They also might think that beliefs of all kind are same as living in the dark ages, and surely he/she is beyond that!

I believe that different people are also at different stages of spiritual development which determines their interests.

I usually "feel the ground" before talking about these things with new people. I start by asking something like "Have you ever had deja vu?" or "Has anything strange ever happened to you?", and see if there is any interest in metafysical. If not, then it's pointless to continue, they will only think I'm looney(which I might be!) Usually if people have had somekind of freaky experience, then they are more open. Face it, if you have never had any weird experiences, then it's hard to believe in any of those things.

Yes, if all people were interested in these things, that would mean that earths population would be more advanced spiritually than it is now. This would lead to the fact that things would indeed be very different here. Sadly, we are not there..yet!

I've been having strange experiences and symptoms of OBEs since as far back as i can remember and to see all of you guys experiencing EXACTLY the same things in these forums (as well as many others) i cant believe it.
I cant help but wonder wether we are unique or just the lucky ones for finding this ability to project ourselves from the physical and realise so much more to life, or whether anyone if well enough informed to believe this stuff is real, could achive the same thing.
