Bed sheets?

I remember an OBE I once had where I was experiencing sleep paralysis. I remember waking up and as usual I would think, "Meh...not again." I usually would try to force myself to wake up rather than OBE. I rolled out of bed and my bed sheets were tangled around me. As it turned out, I wasn't out of bed physically but I was in the astral (but I had no idea at the time). I tried to pull away from my sheets but for some reason I couldn't get the sheets off my head. They covered one of my eyes so I saw black in one and I remember it was sunny that morning so my other eye saw it was bright. I remember it snapped me back and I awoke awhile later and forgot about it until later that day I thought, "What the hell happened?" I'm not sure if I was partly dreaming and in the astral or it was something else. What do you guys think?

I have the same exact thing happen sometimes and it is really annoying. By the time you almost get the bed sheets untangled, you wake up! :?

Sometimes it helps if I just forget about the sheets, and shift my focus to being in another part of the room, with the bed sheets already off.  Other times I keep wanting to go to a big green field, and something always comes up that tries to stop me, like getting stuck in grass, sliding down a rock, so I just try to imagine I am already there.

This may help.

It happened to me once and it was a more recent one for me. Though if it happens again, I'll try your advice. Glad I'm not the only one it happens to, thanks!

You think that's bad, try waking up and having the bed jump up and down like in the movie "The Exorcist"! That happened to my wife and she said it scared the &*@^&%# out of her because at the time she didn't understand the astral plane and thought it happened in reality!  :-o

It's funny now when she thinks back at it. But yes, things like this do happen as part of an OBE.

Well it didn't really scare me it was more like a "Wtf?" kind ofthing. But I'd hate to see that too... then again I noticed that I'm a lot braver when I'm in an OBE/half asleep. Does stuff like that usually mean anything?

I don't know. Maybe you have issues you're struggling with in the physical.

I know how you feel, had the same trouble quite a few times... and I know it's a real B##ch! It's hard to get out once in that stage but you can do it...

I remember once when it felt like plastic was wrapped around me... I had to kick through it to get out! and another time I dragged the sheets with me through the house!

Just remember not to freak out and try focusing hard and try gliding through it... I'm sure you'll find what works for you

Cheers,

maybe we sleep with blankets so it restricts us.

Sounds like you woke up in the real time zone, and then woke up in the physical world.

I once had an experience where I woke up staring at my little brother exiting my room and then I opened my physical eyes staring directly at him. Weird sensation, you're looking at something and then you open your eyes to keep looking.

Sorry to sound inexperiaced and curious about this, but that's because I am.  Are you guys saying that a person out of body, can actually end up tangled in the physical bedding, pulling it off the bed with them, and perhaps dragging it though the house... or are you thinking more about the non physical dupicates of the bedding entagling your energy bodies?

Samael

That's exactly what confused me. I'm guessing it is the latter though. I think I did something that made me feel restricted by my bed sheets for whatever reason. Possibly it was the real time zone I was in...I seem to get stuck there a lot.

What probably is confusing is that during the OBE there is an element of Dual Consciousness  -- that is partly being aware of physically in bed while also OOB. If the astral/ethereal body is too close to the physical body during the dual consciousness then there could be confusion about getting caught up in a blanket or sheets while actually out of body.

This, in fact, has happened to me during several partial OBEs and has prevented me from getting fully out of body. :?

That's most likely it then. When I was waking up and the experience was still fresh in my head, I tried to see if I really fell out of bed but found I was in the fetal postition bundled up in my sheets. I never thought I had a dual concious though...but that was most likely it now that I think of it.

I think, you have experienced the vibrational state of astral projection, do you believe so? I am not quite sure about this- but most of the time, I have the same experience. You could feel that, your conscious mind allows your subconscious mind to take over your dream, have you experienced the same thing?

I had that kind of experience twice! But since i was aware of the fact, that i was in the astral, it took me a couple of seconds and i got rid off the annoying bed sheets. It's good to know you're not the only one :-D
