Hi everyone.

I just wanted to say a quick hello. I found this forum a couple of weeks ago, and I have been reading here everyday since. There seems to be quite a lot of experience collected here, which is awesome. I decided to join for several reasons. One is to continue learning through interaction with others who share similar experiences. Another is that maybe by sharing my own experiences, others may profit.

I first experienced astral projection when I was a child, although I didn't know what it was. I was say 5 or 6 years old, with my family on vacation at the beach. I got too far away from shore when a huge wave hit me from behind and took me under the water. Suddenly I was outside myself, watching my body bounce off the sandy bottom, rolling underwater. When I got my feet and was able to get to the surface, coughing and gagging like mad, I was back in myself again, freaked out and wondering what the heck had just happened.

Anyway that was the initial step on this weird journey over 25 years ago.

I have also had spontaneous lucid dreams since I can remember, usually triggered by nightmares. Maybe that sounds strange, I don't know. Usually how it happens is that when I'm dreaming, if the dream turns negative or frightening. It usually makes me realize that I am, in fact, dreaming, and that I don't have to experience the nightmare if I don't want to.

Then sometimes I have what I call "dreams that are not dreams". These are more along the lines of prophetic dreams or visions of future events.

And then of course there is Astral Projection. Evidently I have been spontaneously phasing for about 14 years now. In the meditation tradition I follow, astral projection is usually experienced in the classical sense, with the vibrations, and floaty-swirly feeling, followed by separation. I got that some, especially at first. But then later on, I started projecting immediately into other places, times, etc. Not knowing that there was already a name for it and much research already done, I just thought of it as projecting consciousness.

Wow, I said this would be a quick intro. Sorry.

Anyway, while I've enjoyed lurking here for a while, I felt that to make the most of this opportunity, I had to emerge from shadows, so to speak.

Thanks,

CWH
