Quote from: kodemasterHow to enter the Astral from a Lucid dream

What you need to do is, as you find yourself becoming consciously aware that you are dreaming, try and quit the dream. Do this by switching off the emotional energy you are giving out that is fuelling the on-going dream picture.

Otherwise, if you try and project, what will almost certainly happen is you will "dream" about projecting.

Best way, I found, is to stand still and adopt an air of mild curiosity about one "thing". It might be an area of colour, or any old object. I found it doesn't really matter. Anything just so it gathers your thoughts. Then the dream scenery will shift. Once you are sure you are no-longer dreaming, that is the time to start having a wander around and interacting with your surroundings. At which point there is no need to think about projecting, as you are projecting.

When you say try and quit the dream, do you mean.. try to wake up?  Because, If I make myself wake up, then what do I do next?

You said I should focus on one object until the scenery shifts, do you mean, I should look at it, until the dream starts fading out and changing?  Because usually, when the scenery changes.. i'm still dreaming.. if I change it too much, then I wake up...

I usually go through a door and tell myself.. once I go through that door, I will be in such and such place... but still there's a ton of reality fluctuations... so it seems more of a lucid dream, than an astral projection...

How do I do the switch over?

I think that when she says to focus on an object, the point is to focus and sharpen your awareness for a moment and not put any energy into the dream elements. What you're not giving attention to should disappear (if it's really a dream) and focus your awareness. Then you can proceed with your intended astral projection without the dream taking over.

Anyone, feel free to correct me where I'm wrong.

Hi Lily!

I'll try to explain this the best I can. I actually learned the technique from Frank, who used to moderate here (and I copied and pasted the text from into the FAQ.)

You have to stand still in the dream. Suppose you dream that you're at a party with a bunch of people dancing. If you want to project, then stop dancing, stand completely still, and focus on something in the room. It could be someone's shirt, the colour of the wall, the music, etc. Keep focusing on it until you feel a spinning sensation. That is the conversion of the dream to an astral projection or OBE. As you feel the spinning sensation, the dream scenery will fade away and you will find yourself in your new surroundings. Please note that you can end up in the Real Time Zone, the astral proper or a lucid dream.

It will take a few seconds for you to get your bearings. Once you do, you will know instinctively if you are in a lucid dream or out of body experience. You may question it after you wake up, asking yourself "was it really an OBE?", but it's your initial instinct that will tell them apart. Always go by that.

Hope this helps!
