role of consciousness

In order for us to burrow deep into the structures of the universe (to focus toward truth) we must understand what exactly our role is in the whole.  The most basic of our whole is consciousness.  Our consciousness is surrounded by layers of our identity.  For now, ignore the rest.

Consciousness is really all that we actually are.  You make up only part of the being that you claim to be.  You are the input and control function; the part that experiences.  You are truly the diamond of the system.  But you work with your other parts to complete a functional rainbow of conscious expression.

Now, if we move back a step we will find a being, a human being.  But together, we make up something even greater.  Like fibers in flower, we make up God.  Our communication resembles the communication in ourselves.  Much like a fractal, this observation can continue to infancy.

These thoughts can center into a simple one; your consciousness is your whole.  What ever is occurring a distance from you, whatever you don't feel is completely irrelevant to you.  Your experience is a mere emulation of what your body tells your consciousness is real, around and within you.   The screen in front of your face is a symbol.  The words you read are just a creation of yourself.  Everything is perception.  Reality is not concrete but abstract.  What you feel is what is real.

Now, the greatest danger to you is the possible mistake of conforming to what others define for you.  In a way, it can enslave you.

The point I am trying to make is that all you know is your consciousness, and what you define is your reality.

Suffering originates from dysfunction.  Simply put, when a function is out of place-you (the consciousness) are the one who feels it.  Finding happiness should not be as hard as it has become for us.  It's as simple as following your consciousness.  But when you conform to external forces (those outside your consciousness) you loose.

When you escape the role of consciousness, you bleed.

Do what you were designed to do, feel, and react apon that.
Confusion separates us...and division teaches us that unity is the only truth.

1 thing to add to that:

Human consciousness breaks down into 3 functions: "Thinking", "Feeling", and "Willling". These are what we use to perceive our subjective realities. The closer you understand these 3 things and utilize them without "filters" or ego, the closer you come to understanding consciousness as a whole ~ EVERYTHING is consciousness.

Consciousness is really all that we actually are.

Congratulations, you have realized you could be nothing more than a brain in a vat.

What do you suppose consciousness is then?

My beliefs:

Consciousness is the source of creation, of which we are all tendrils that shoot off of the main body, exploring different lineages of possibility (timelines). That source is dealing with a reality unimaginably more complex than the one we are dealing with- actually, that source is dealing with ALL of reality and we're just dealing with a small part. It exists in an OMNIverse rather than a Universe. That source is re-balancing or re-orienting itself somehow. It is doing everything you can imagine it is doing. It's like it's inside a big fractal, watching from parts of itself what other parts of itself are doing. Can you imagine this?

Somewhere, there exists other tendrils that are JUST LIKE YOU, but are following different timelines in parallel Universes.

I feel connected to the entire Universe, and that is why I believe these things.

Man is more than just consciousness.  Man is of the source's consciousness and light, as they are divided up into the infinite manifestations in our universe, but with darkness thrown onto it:  by nature's mechanism we are bound to experience our body's physical senses, emotions, and desires.  Thus we come in between disembodied spirits and more "unintelligent" physical life (not as though to "rank" us in any way, for all is ultimately one single expression).

Our greatest achievement is mastering our desires by understanding them, transcending nature's mechanical laws and shining Godhead out to the darkness through ourselves.  Let us become like the Sun and other Stars, tapping into the source and always radiating warmth and beauty into our world from the very source of creation's great inexhaust.  It is the very same creative energy. This is what the poets do, the artists, the composers, the philosophers, and the mystics:  all their work enriches life from this same creative source, and causes people to grow spiritually, just as sunlight makes plants grow.
