Does 'The Silence' have anything to do with Astral Projection?

I have read a little about 'The Silence' and would love it if you can tell me if there is any relation to it and AP's...

Also, does anyone know of any ways to 'practice' the silence and can you get into the silence using music as a guide? (It's probably a weird question, as the silence implies no noise - but I find I can be more 'silent' when listening to affirmations/something relaxational - does this make sense? And am I in the Silence if there is music playing?)

Speak up if you are a silence expert!  :-)

Thanks!

I'm assuming that "the silence" is the same as "quieting your mind" or "single-mindedness". It's not as much about actual silence as it is about stopping thoughts, and music can definitely help. Being relaxed is a big part of it, and anything that helps you relax can be beneficial: music, incense, body position, etc. Whatever makes you relax and puts you in the right state of mind.

As far as it's relation to AP, when you reach that state your at a good place to begin an exit technique, or remain silent and "move inward".

i think of music when i meditate soon its stops and goes into complete silence, then it gets too intense for me to handle. i guess it stops because my brain goes dead.

The silence (of mind) has a direct relation to AP. You won't be able to project without silencing your mind, as simple as that.

Its also needed for your spiritual progress.
Talking less works best. It silences the internal talk also.
Turing off TV and not reading helps.
If you feel music helps, thats because, its devoid of words, but still meaningful. Avoid songs if possible, because they get stuck in head and interfere in AP process.

Quieting my mind is the method that I use for AP. When a thought appears just reset everything in your mind. it usually takes me 15 to 20 minutes and when the thoughts stop I automatically go out of my body. I don't even need to think about going out of my body. I think that it's the fastest and the easiest method because no visualization is required. Just try it!

stopping your thoughts takes very little effort in comparison with visualization or whatever. It's just that you are not used to doing nothing. You think that you are always obliged to do something to achieve your goal but try doing nothing. It's much easier! The only thing that keeps our consciousness in this world is the inner talk. Stop it and open yourself to other realms. When a though appears stop it, when the next one appears, again stop it and don't worry about the result, it's just about "stopping".

its hard for me to clear my mind

The most effective way to stop thought (internal chatter) is to negate everything that comes, with an opposite thought.

For example:
Thought: "I need to go there on ....etc etc etc"
You: "I DONT need to go there......etc "

Thought: "He said I was......"
You: "He said I was NOT...."

After a few iterations, mind will be silent. :)

That just starts an argument with myself - he starts calling me names... it gets ugly.

I try to find the silence between thoughts, or focus on one particular thing, like your breathing or a bird singing or the breeze or the blackness behind your eyelids. Only 1 thing though, uninterrupted by thoughts. It takes a lot of practice.

I'm with Stookie - my mind can get pretty offended....!! And a single purpose/focus helps to get into the 'silence'...

I have found that I imagine the process of my thoughts being like a leaking roof and to stop the leaks I have to patch them up, or funnel them into a place that is away from my current consciousness, I'll just push them aside as it were.

It, for me, is one of the greatest challenges I have ever faced because I used to think that 'wayward' or 'random' thoughts were a source of great inspiration and creativity. They are, to a certain extent, but I'm learning that it's when you channel them and focus them that the true 'power' comes....

These unstoppable thoughts are to hide other dimensions from us. I looks like a spell on humans. I don't know if it's done by demons or by God but it's more than just coincidence.

Psan

I'm sorry it did not work for both of you. :p
But when I say negate, I mean think of an exact negative of the thought that appears out of nowhere, without any emotions and by being calm and passive.
Don't fight with yourself... :D

Once negated, leave it free, let it go and wait for others to come.

come on psan  ,this negation process needs a lot of energy, the process is much easier. all you have to do is to stop the thoughts one by one.
