My experiences trying to induce an OBE

Hello everyone,

First I would like to mention how wonderful it is to find a site with so many information on the subject of OBE, I have read several books about it and have been trying to induce an OBE for about a year. Well I did it a year ago for a few months, then I quit, and now I begun trying since a week or two.

I never had a succesful attempt yet. Mostly I practice before I go to sleep at night, I just try to relax as completely as I can.
When I am ' succesful' in doing so, and I do not fall asleep or lose patience, I usually start to wander off with my mind at some point. I am amble to redirect my mind to conscious OBE attempt, and then if I'm progressing this far, I get these sensations:

- I get very hot, my body sweats and i can feel the sweat dropping off my legs; Is this a normal sensation?
- I usually get the feeling of floating with my lower part of my body, or sort of levitating, but my head seems to be stuck all the time. This means I get some kind of weird pressure on my head, while the rest of my body is upward, and very relaxed I guess;

This week I had an experience like described here, and I lost consciousness at a certain point and than I felt back in my body (I guess) because it was a big shock and my body moved.

I have never been close to real OBE, at least thats what I think of it.

What I want to know is what is causing me to get hot/sweaty? It really discomforts me and might lower my chances of succes?
And why is it my head seems 'stuck'?

And if you please could give me any other type of advice in trying to project please tell me. Maybe I need to change practice times, relaxation ways or something?

Thank you in advance for your time and answers!

Greetings,

I don't know what is causing you to sweat.  I've never heard that one before so I can't possibly comment.  However, the reason your upper body is not 'floating' could be because of blocked chakras.  So you will need to send energy and open your chakras in your upper body.  That includes solar plexis, heart, throat, brow (also known as front or third eye) and crown.  Of course you need to open all chakras so if you haven't done this before, you also need to work on your sacral, base, palms and sole chakras as well.

As to techniques, there are lots of threads on this forum that discuss good techniques.  Some of the most popular ones are, the rope method, energising the front chakra, waking up early in the morning, affirmations (that you will project)... sorry the list is too long to go through here but I hope this will get you started.

Best wishes

I already know a lot of techniques , but none has been succesful so that is why I asked.

How do I exactly go about opening chakras? I know the third eye chakra, should I concentrate on it, by rolling my eyse upward?

Vibra

Focus on each Chakra individually using a stirring/tearing action. It is important to know where each one is. Imagine your hands reaching in and tearing them open.  Base/root, Solar plexus/gut, Heart, throat, third eye, Crown. You will feel different sensations in each area. Keep working them until you feel something happening in each targeted areas. Each Chakra has its own unique sensation and I'm sure they differ in each person. But believe me, you will know when they are being worked. After you have them all active begin flowing the energy throughout your body making sure you pass the energy through each Chakra, down legs/feet and arms/ hands. Then I do a technique I'm not sure is common (Ive never read of anyone doing this). My energy body loosened up and flowing I'm able to activate my entire energy body and have my whole body begin a complete buzzing sensation. This can get fairly intense depending on how relaxed I am. I do this for roughly 20 minutes 2 hours before projection attempt.
I hope this helps
