Seemed to have lost control

"I seemed to have lost control over my MBA" - what exactly do you mean by this?  Your Mobile Body Awareness is where ever you put it, or think/feel it to be in your body.  If you have lost control of this, that would mean that you have just lost your concentration or focus point.  In which case, do some meditation to train your mind.  If you are actually refering to energy movements then you will find that the energy does work in areas where you are not concentrating, does do it's own thing - I think this is ok, happens to me all the time anyway.  I just keep focused on what I'm doing at the time.  If I'm working on legs, and I start to feel energy working in my back, I ignore it and concentrate on the legs.

Hmm....I'm no expert in this technique you're using, but if it were me, I'd work on control for a bit--continue to progress, but slower, and focus on making this do what you want it to.  Good foundation makes for a sturdier building and all that.

Tia-  I understand that your MBA is sapposed to be where you put it but it seems as if my mind wanders too much.  As in.. I start working on my foot as a whole and then bring it down to a finer point and work the toes and sole...and so on.  But rather frequently it jumps and next thing I know I can not pull my concentration off say my knee or my arm.  It seems to spred out in that manner and the next thing I know I am fully aware of everything going on in my body.  My heart pounding,  my breathing, the amount pressure my cloths are exerting on the verious parts, any breezes running across me, just everything.

I had stopped doing energy work since I posted this last and recently restarted working the basics.  Even scartching certain points to maintain my focus there, as suggested in Robert Bruce's writings, but it does not seem to work.

Winged_Wolf-  I am trying to work on the NEW system, but the control is something I have started or rather continue to have problems with.  When I first started there was no problem with control, but now like I said its all or nothing.

Hmmm....try doing some focusing exercises.

One I learned was this--pick a time each day, and make your place quiet--unplug the phone, if you live with other request not to be disturbed, etc.

Sit in a comfortable position, and place a candle in front of you (on a small table or something).  Light it, and look at the flame.
Do NOT allow the flame to blur, or twin.  Do not look away, or allow your eyes to dart around the room.  Just look at the flame, and keep it in focus.  You may only be able to do this for a minute or so at first.  Do it as long as you can, until your effort fails and you lose your focus.
Extend the period of time you do this, each day.  (Don't have a clock in the room--just check the time before and after you do it).
Eventually, the room will begin to disappear around you, and you will see ONLY the flame, clearly.
When you can do this for a half hour without real strain, then you should have all the focus you'll ever really need, and this may well solve your problem.

From reading I have been doing, it seems that body awareness is almost a function of the energy body. In other words our mind uses our energy field (among other things) to figure out where different parts of our body are in three dimensional space.

Your sudden loss of control could be a sign of energetic development. Different parts of your energy body are strengthening and changing, and your body awareness system is confused. By analogy, I started lifting weights and then tried to go back to playing ping-pong (table tennis). I found that my game was completely off and I had to relearn all the fine muscle movements to hit the ball properly.

I sometimes have problems where I didn't before. Unable to get a grip on energy, etc.

In my unauthoritative, speculative opinion, don't worry. Keep working at it, carefully attend to what's happening in your body, and be imaginative and experimental. You may find the answer to your problems by flexing your mind just a little differently. As your energy body changes, you may have to adjust your methods.

I think Winged Wolf's idea is great. If you can focus on a candle flame for half an hour, then you should have no trouble focusing on your big toe or a little patch of skin for 5 seconds.

Just thought of something else. When I first started doing energy work, energy going off on its own drove me crazy. But as you start to work with and wake up the energy body you have to trust its innate intelligence. If you start pulling energy one way, and your body tries to take it the other way, just let it go.  You can even let go of that chunk of awareness and create a new one in the same spot and keep going where you left off. (The old bit will zip off and fade away to where it wants to go.)

If one part of your body is very active, you might want to work with it. If something's throbbing, you could gently make it throb harder. Or you can leave that spot alone, let it do its thing, and work in a different place. Work with, or alongside your energy body. :)

If anything, just continue to do a bit of work each day, and your problems will probably go away. And get replaced by new ones. :)

Best of luck,

Mark

But i still don't understand why I can feel everything.  I mean completely, fully, and totally aware of my etire body at once, and every little microscopic thing that happens to it.
Yes I can feel the energy movements but only as part of the whole body.  I am still totaly aware of everything else and can not turn it off to a point of a singular spot.

I have been doing focusing exercises and it only seems to make things stronger.  I am only more aware of things afterwords.

Normal?

I seemed to have lost control over my MBA.  I can still feel it moving around but it seems to just move on its own and to were ever.  I am have many dificulties now focusing on one spot.  When I attempt to do so my awareness just shifts to different spots.  There is no decernable path or order.  This is a recent development, I was not having this problem before.
Also this does deem to go away a bit when I think of things as a whole. Foot, leg, hand, arm, body.  And is easier for me to pull energy as a whole unit instead of say one leg or arm at a time. But both arms and legs pulling in at once seems easier more controlled.  Come to think of it when I started doing that is when I started losing control of MBA.

So is that a normal thing?  Should I work again on regaining the control or just continue with the whole parts?
