Experienced OBE'rs, I have a question!

I have a question for those people who can astral travel/OBE whether consciously or from the dream state.

Do you think this is an ability only some people have (perhaps due to brain chemistry or something, like maybe some people's brains are more wired to let them 'out' of the body than others)

Or...

Do you think EVERYONE can do this eventually with training and practice. I have been trying (albeit not as consistently as I should) to do this for years and I cannot do it. So I wondered if maybe some peope naturally can and others can't, just like some people can sing or wiggle their ears and others can't.

Just wondering your opinions on this!

I would say option 2.  Everyone is able to do it, but it requires not only willingness and hard work, but also (and most importantly) determination. 

It certainly comes naturally to some people, probably because their life purpose has something to do with OBEs or their evolutionary level allows them to easily project.  But we all have the potential, and we can all get there if we really want to.

Aharris, I was very uncertain at first if it could be achieved at all. After some practice I became very discouraged. I think a deep desire and a good work ethic toward it definitely helps. A predisposition to OOBE? This I'm not completely sure of, though I'm also guessing it probably will work in your favor. Seems that some just have an easier time... It's debated you have to believe, if you do not inside, deep inside, OOBE will be impossible.

I remember as a boy watching a movie, sorta-spine tingling-horror movie in fact about OOBE. I must've been or 9-10 years old, perhaps less. I felt no matter how obscure the subject matter at that moment watching, this is Possible and I was deeply frightened by the content. So it was in fact something that was 'inside' me from day one

It's hard to say, but I honestly think anyone has the ability to do it to some degree.

Took me 10 years to have my first projection. Plus another 5 years before I could stay out longer than 15 seconds. I'm at the 15 year mark right now and so far my record of being out is 5 minutes, but I went from that 15 seconds to 5 minutes in one day. I also went from not being able to project to being able to do it with no effort to moderate effort (depends on the day).

It was worth 15 years without a doubt. What I'm trying to say is if you want to do it bad enough you'll one day be able to do it, even if you have no natural talent for it (like me).

Cool...Steel Hawk that is awesome...I've only been practicing a few years. You've given me definite hope that this can be achieved, I'm willing to practice for a decade or more if that's what it takes, I just want to know it can be done. I want to experience it for myself, so I can first-handedly verify for myself that I am more than just a physical body. For some reason no matter how many people tell me about OBEs or how many great books I read on the subject there is still a skeptic in me, a skeptic which I have a burning desire to prove wrong.

To me, a lot of the power to do it is within the mind. If your skeptic and believe you cant do it, I dont think you will be able to.

To answer your question, I have had them for years and I think anyone can experience them with practice. I have gotten to the point where I can trigger them if i want to.

Whats the coolest thing you've been able to verify whilst in the RTZ kAos?

Hrm. I guess it has been years since there was anything i verified 100%. When i was 16 or so there was a strange car in a neighbors parking pad about 6 houses down from mine. It was purple and i never saw it before...I woke up to get the mail and there was the same car in the parking pad. Here they bought a new car. I've tried some more verification tests recently but havnt had good results.

KaOs, exactly what I wanted to say.  As with everything in life, if you are sending the energy to the universe, that you can't do it, that's what you get. That's how skeptics get into catch 22.  On the other hand, if you are truly open to it (i.e. not half heartedly open and not pretending to be open), then there's no limit to what you can achieve.  A magical place, we live in, eh?
