How can one improve control during OBEs ? I have tried commanding/requesting to go to particular places - but sometimes nothing seems to happen and I remain there as is.

Someother times, on requesting to go to places, I seem to flow flow and flow (or fall, fall and fall), without reaching  anywhere - has anybody experienced this ? What could be happening here ?

Frozen Spirit

I imagine its all mental.  When I first began lucid dreaming, even though I was completely aware I was dreaming, I couldn't change very much about it and I ended up getting frustrated and losing lucidity or waking up.  This was just a big mental block.  One of my major problems was flying in dreams, I would hop off the ground, fly a few feet and fall back down and I would stand there and honestly be like "what the hell?".  Well, the problem was, we can't fly in everyday life, can we?  My brain wasn't accepting the idea of flying, whether I was dreaming or not.  So eventually, I just learned to "just do it", which is a very vague explanation, I know.  But, that's what you have to do.  Don't let your brain bullcrap you into thinking it's not possible.  Because, when you OBE or lucid dream, you aren't confided to the rules of our waking lives.

You could try singing a song all day to trick your subconscious. Somthing like R. Kelly's I believe I can fly. Or remember the song from Peter Pan where they sing I can fly, I can fly, I can fly over and over again.
"the lower, earthly human being and the upper, mystical human being, in which the Godhead is manifested as shape, belong together and are unthinkable without one another."

Impermanence

I experience what you said in almost all my OBE, in some form or another. For me, the key is really your intention, or Intent. I don,t think it's enough to just say it out loud. You must think it, feel it, wish it and believe it. For example, In two of my OBE I got sucked into the floor. What I would do is imagine myself flying. You must feel yourself moving there with all of your mind. You must put more 'force' into your thought.

I know It doesn't make much sense when you read it but when you experienced it a couple of time, you will understand the difference.
