Does 'visualizing' vibrations help to bring it on? I have this urge to focus on what little sense of vibration I have when i'm in a relaxed state in the hope of 'amplifying' it into an actual vibrational state.. am I doing it wrong? because it hasn't worked once... I suspect the 'vibrations' I feel are not the type that signals imminent exit  :|

Funny ive been having the same problem.

When i was young i remember the vibrations at full pelt, i never had to bring them on they just came.
I think its more down to relaxing totally, and as an adult thats not always easy.

Try some of the relaxation exercises suggested by Robert Monroe in NEW energy ways.

I'm not sure if i have the same problem, but about how long does it take for the vibrations to occur? i have been trying to project for about 2 weeks and i haven't even managed to feel any sort of vibrations and lately i'm becoming really discouraged.

For me terps, it took about a week and a half.  But I still havent had an OB.  I actually had a strong vibration last night but I felt like I couldnt breathe and other distractions awoke me.

Robert Peterson has a technique that has to do with one imagining that their body is vibrating, which he says can lead to one experiencing the actual vibrations as a result (so I guess it's possible to reach the vibrational state by pretending like you had them to begin with).

You'll know for sure if you're experiencing the real vibrations because you whole body will be vibrating intensely.

I'm not sure if you're aware of this or not but one does not need to experience vibrations in order for them to leave their body.

You'll be able to project soon, its just that it has taken a little longer than you'd like so far.

Haha yea im a little impatient is just seems like an amazing experience and i cannot wait for it to happen.

But I thought you needed vibrations, i guess i was wrong.

The more impatient you are the longer it will take. Total relaxation and not thinking of it is the key. Believe me, They will come  and There will be no mistaking the vibrations when they arrive!!! You will probably be unnerved at the veracity of them at first, but it is one of the most profound beautiful experiences you will ever enjoy
Good Luck

three or four times i have had intence vibrations and when they come i definitly know about it they usualy freak me out and i lose concentration
as of yet i have not managed to leave my body but the the next day after i have had vibrations i always feel like i have wasted them due to my sudden fear
but it just makes me more determined that the next i will try to realax through them
its a deep rooted fear of the unknown i want to do it but training my brain to let me is a little harder

Stookie

Some people don't get them at all. When doing exercises, don't worry about vibrations. Like Vibra said, they'll come on their own. It's never been a profound beautiful experience for me though. More of an annoyance, but I don't experience them much at all anymore. After all, it's the OBE I want, not vibes.

Dudes, vibrations are a side effect and not a cause.  Yes, it's cool when it happens but it doesn't make anything happen.
It's a side effect of transitioning- and they don't always happen on the exit either.  So if you want to feel vibrations to feel vibrations then do energy work and meditate until you're ready to fall asleep and stay awake, if you want to project then vibrations may be an indication that it's time to try an exit technique (or energy body loosening technique) but then maybe not.

Cross--posted with Stookie.  You beat me by 5 nanoseconds.

I think that newbies (like me) know that you dont always feel vibrations and that they are a effect of energy/leaving the body...etc.

But why we want to know more about the vibrations is that it tells us when we are on the right path.  It is something we can feel and give us future hope of knowing we can do this.

So if there is a technique to help induce them or specific energy work to bring them on, we want to know.

^Makes sense?

I used to get vibes when doing Robert Bruce's "rope climbing". After 10 or 15 minutes they would come on hard. I would completely focus on climbing the rope, NOT on actual feelings and sensations, just the rope on my hands and the weight of pulling my body up. The vibes would show up unsuspectingly.

What I don't like about the rope climbing exercise is that it gets very monotonous after a few successes with it. But I think most exercises are like that. You have to change it up.

And it can take a loong lo-ong time to project with it if you don't time it right.  Which is why I use it as a last resort, if I'm firmly anchored and definitely in deep trance.
