Hello guys,

I am so happy to hear myself being able to achieve LD for about a week in a row now! But all of it was what I consider, a failure. Take yesterday's dream for example. Let me just tell you what happened. I was in a dream, playing some I don't know what it is called, like beat the people using the badminton thing... That's not important, so anyway, suddenly I realized that I was dreaming. Then I thought like "Woo! Another LD!!". Around 5-10 seconds after that, I will lose my lucidity and the dream continues. This is what usually happens to me, and I'm sick and tired of that. What can I do to prevent that from happening again? I want to try AP by using the LD > AP method.

BTW, just to tell you how I got lucid. While in the dream, I will sort of get shocked, almost waking up, then I will realize that I was dreaming. And then after that I lost my lucidity. Really, since the first time it happens, THIS thing will always happen!!

Thank you for your kind attention,
Keitake

Don't be dissapointed that you are loosing your lucidity after becoming lucid... it is normal, even for seasoned travelers.

The trick is to re-gain your lucidity..
Once you have your lucidity (whether the first time or a re-gain) you must concentrate to maintain lucidity. Though too much concentration ie. looking at one spot, item, person etc could (not necessarily) make the dreamscape breakdown, not good for maintaining lucidity in the dream (though good for OBE attempts).. If you want to maintain the dreamscape and lucidity you need to find a middle ground of concentration. One where the dreamscape is maintained AND you are aware that you are dreaming... You seem to be getting sucked back into the story within the dream. Remain a detached observer...

Try these things to maintain lucidity:

  • Interact more/feel more when interacting with your dream environment - but maintain awareness - sort of like you do in waking life when consciously increasing your awareness
  • You could also try doing things that will maintain your LUCIDITY, activities that will require concentration ie. flying, telekinesis you name it...
  • Use affermations: ie. "I maintain my lucidity, i am aware in my dreamscape"
  • Know you are the master of the dreamscape.
  • Become more AWARE in every day life - ie. while walking, working, driving whatever every moment you are able
  • Perform reality checks in waking life & dream life

Don't be dissapointed you are doing well by the sounds of it...

Anyone else with more ideas??
